OT, But I have a dance competition coming up in........

Yup, it's that time of year. Well one of the times of year, when irish dancer from all over the country come to Orlando for the dance competition hosted by none other than my dance school.

I just thought that some of you would be interested.

It's being held on Feb 16, at the Sheriton World Resorts.

That group dances start bright and early at 8am. lol. But my sister and I shouldn't be dancing till around 12pm. Those dances are our solos.

I'll post some more details later. I hope some of you can make it. It's a really cool experience.


Plus, a group of my fellow dancers, their families, and mine get to hang out at Islands of Adventure on that Saturday, before the competition.

And yes, my companion Marlana will be dancing as well.

 

I think I am dancing in that competiton too! Oh wait- no I am not. Seeing me dance is like watching the ballet hippo dance from Fantasia.

 

If I have that day off and can find the hotel I will be there.

 

I'll see if I can make it.

My icky friend Paul thought it would be funny to spin around in circles while holding a few markers with their caps off. I'm still scrubbin, and that was two days ago.

Here it all is.

From north or south: Florida turnpike to Interstate 4 West exit. Take Interstate 4 West approximately 5 miles to Exit #28(Cape Canaveral, 528 East). Drive approxinately 1/4 mile: then take Exit #1. When you get off at this exit, the Sheraton World Resort is through the 1st intersection on your left (WestwoodBlvd. andInternational Drive)

Group dances start at 8am. Marlana, my sister, and I are in a few of those. Marlana and my sister start dancing at 12pm, and I start at 1pm.

How did it go?

 

Well, I know how it went, but I'll let Mayo tell you. All I have to say is Congratulations!

 

I got a 1st place in one of my dances!

::does victory dance::

But they ran out of tropheys, so I have to wait and get it on Wensday.

I got 2 1st places in goup dances, and a 3rd in another group dance, that's just me, my sister, and Marlana.

I also got a 3rd in my reel, a 2nd in my slip jig, and a 3rd in my single jig. I got my 1st in my hornpipe.

My poor sister rolled her ankle her very first dance of the day.

My family , friends and I ran the stages, and competitions, so I have some great stories to tell you all about our experience.

It involves crying kids, grouchy judges, and missing dance teachers. lol.
