OT Powerful words, whats your fav ?

The malice in his voice as he says that last word is chilling!

 

I agree. I just love the way he spits out the word "Jedi" with such utter contempt. Just like the way he says "It is quite safe from your pitiful little band..."

I think that all of Ian McDiarmid's dialogue deliveries in ROTJ are just brilliant.

"Oh... I'm afraid the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive"

 

"Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station!

You may fire when ready, Commander..."

 

These last couple are great, how about....

If you will not be turned then..
You will be destroyed !

This is the weapon of a jedi knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon, from a more civilized time...

Forgive if it is not exact. Probably my favorite single scene in ANH.

There are almost too many in ANH to count.

As mentioned above, Obi-Wan's lines as Luke ignites a lightsabre for the first time.

"That's no moon; it's a space station."

TESB:
"No, try not. DO... or do not. There is no try."

Plus, my screen name and sig. IMO, Tarkin wasn't quite holding onto Vader correctly by going to Yavin. But that's another topic.

I just love the way he says that when the Falcon comes up on him

"Look, Your Worshipfulness, let's get one thing straight! I take
orders from one person! Me!" - Han

"...I am your father" very few lines have made their way into Pop Culture like that one has.

"...and now, my young Jedi, you.. will... DIE!" Said with such hatred and dismissal, that line drips with contempt. I love it.

But My favorite sequence in all the films is in my sig.

 

The best line has to be: "Der-der-diggit" obviously! (anyone who can tell me the name and designation of the shoebox in question wins a prize).

More sensibly:

3PO: "We're DOOMED!"

Gotta love it!

Oh yeah and "I have a baaaaad feeling about this..."

Can't believe no one else put that up!

 

I think this is another great dialog.

Ben: Your father was seduced by the dark side
of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I have told you was true...from a certain point of view.

Luke: A certain point of view!

Ben: Luke, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Is that the little droid in your icon, when Chewie roars at him on the Death Star and he scurries away?

 

Yeah. Greatest character in SW AND the best dialogue! But whats it's name... claim your prize!

More powerful words:
"Apology accepted...Admiral."

and

"I want them intact - no disintegrations!"

 

"My, you're a feisty little one..."

love that one too...

(Oh yeah, and the "Eeeeeeergh!" just afterwards.)

and the sound of the Death Star "hubs"? when Ben turns them off... whilst being kunning...

love that too...

(not really words, but still Death Star dialogue...)

 

ESB: Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

 

ROTJ: "No, I'll never turn to the darkside. You've failed your highness, I'm a Jedi, like my father before me."

 

Luke: "Your overconfidence is your weakness."

Emperor: "Your faith in your friends is yours." Ooo, I just love the snide way he says that line.

Han: "I'm glad your here to tell us the things." "Take the professor in back and plug him into the hyperdrive." (?)

Most of the dialogue on the Falcon in ESB is quite succinct and witty.
