Want to see actor Christopher Lee (Count Dooku) in his greatest non-SW role?

Channel 9, The Wicker Man is on from sometime after 3am ... if your awake, watch it, fabulous film!

    It's on now!

    Where are you?

I know your not at those fancy pancy nightclubs!

Your not in bed are you?

Ah well ... I guess not everyone is lucky enough to have Insomnia. LOL.

You can always get it on DVD, it's worth it trust me. ;)

    LOL.

If anyone hasn't seen the Wicker Man I highly recommend it, Christopher Lee considers it his best work personally and when it came out he rang up alot of critics and said "Please go see this movie, I will pay for your seats" that's how much he loved it.

Anyway enough of my PR for The Wicker Man, can anyone tell I really like Count Dooku? ;)

    His best work?

    Poor guy.

It's 70's schlock. Entertaining sure, but bad all the same.

But then, I haven't seen his body of work.

    I wonder if he's re-evaluated, post LOTR?

    70's schlock?

I think you may have mistaken it with another film my friend.

The Wicker Man is not corny, nor gory, it is "the thinking man's" horror film, and truly beautiful and terrifing.

    Not mistaken, friend.

I just saw it this year or last year.

People peeping over fences wearing masks?

30 year old teenage girls jumping over a fire?

While pregnant women stroll dreamily through the fields?

A nubile nymphette singing a warble through his bedroom wall while she rubs herself all over it?

That scene alone was enough corn for one movie.

I admit, yes, it was a thinking person's horror movie. I was impressed by how accurate the whole pagan fertility philosophy and rituals were.

But it was done in the 70s and it shows.

True it is 70's but holds it's age better than most (probably being on an island helps, cities show age alot) but the term Schlock can't really be applied IMHO.

When I think of Schlock I think of stuff like Scream Blacula Scream (I know it's technically Blaxploitation) and rip-offs of the Exorcist and so forth IMHO. :)
