Hey, sorry for the off topic post, but I would like to hear your opinions on this.

    I have Windows ME.

    I hate it.

I am going to upgrade to XP, and I am wondering if the pro version is substantially better than the home version. I have read the stuff at microsoft (tac...), but I would like to hear your opinions as well.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Post your question in the social thread, please.

    uh oh...

    the debate...the debate is coming!

the only differences are that PRO works better in network situations, i'm sure there are other reasons but thats once that i noticed most.

Go Pro. Home is still based off the same nonsense coding that made ME notorious, whereas Pro is based off NT technology (IIRC).

Either way, I've heard people had major problems with home (spontaneous restarts, etc) that I've never had with pro.

My brother also have spontaneous restarts with Home edition of XP.
    I'm using windows 2000 prof with SP3.
When I was using ME & 98 the PC crashes at least once a week. (I meant then a reboot was needed)

with 2000 some application may hang but not the whole OS.
