Our official invitation has arrived: Halloween NYC 2003

Hey Everyone,

Now that Dragoncon is over the next really big thing coming our way
is halloween. For those you you who don't know Friday October 31st,
2003 there will be a HUGE halloween parade in the village. This is
something that you do not want to miss out on.

Here are all the details for the parade.

Right now I envison meeting everyone in costume on 6th ave between
spring and broome
starting at 6:30. Everyone NEEDS to be there by 7:30 at the LATEST.

Dion is in the process of planning a group dinner at Planet Hollywood
for those intrested parties.

If anyone wants to get a hotel I would recommend the best western we
stayed at last year.

I am pretty sure this is where we stayed last year....rates are 200
beans and up for one night.
The price is reasonable (for NYC) but you might want to check
availability as soon as possible.
Things fill up fast. If anyone find a better hotel please let me know.

After the parade all members are free to to whatever night spot
appeals to them.

I just have one thing to add. I will be staying at Zip's in Jersey City, not at a hotel. If you'd like to stay at Zip's too, let me know so I can give him a count. You'll need a sleeping bag, pillow and a set of towels and your costumes. Remember the next day is Chiller Con about 10 min from where Zip lives. We plan to go for the day and party into the night. Sunday is the marathon and Leon the Brit is running it in full trooper armor.

Actually I can't make it for the Parade, but I am thinking about going to Chiller Con so have Zippy make space for my airbed!! lol

I am going up to Zip's fairly early in the day on Friday. Natasha is riding with me but since she will have armor we don't have room for any more riders.

Karla and Wendy - what are your plans? Are you off work that day?

 

My plans are still in the works but I don't expect to leave for Chiller Con till Saturday morning.

 

What time are you guys planning on leaving that day? I've got a half day that Friday, I'll be done at 9:30am. So if I could meet up with you guys somewhere and follow, that would be great. If you plan on leaving before I can meet up with you, I should do fine with directions to Zippy's.

I'm picking up Natasha in the city at 11:20am. That's when she gets out of class. Probably best if we arrange to meet on the PA Turnpike around noon and you can follow us up. Once you know the way it's not hard. Do you have EZPass?

Congratulations to Leon, The Brit, who finished the NYC Marathon yesterday in full trooper armor and helmet in 5 hours 32 minutes. He raised over $2500 for charity through sponsorships!

 

I tip my hat to Leon for pulling that off!!!
