Sth Bend, IN Our Story

In light of our recent turn to blatant count-increasing posts, I thought would fuel the fire with this thread...

The premise: we will write our own story, post by post. Pretty simple, eh? I'll start...


A short, short time from now, in a nebula next to us, there was a boy....

 

that always though he was different from all the other kids.

 

He didn't have money for food or rent. To say the least he was hard-pressed.

 

So, with a group of many other young Rodians, he ran away from his parents and took up with a group of pirates, hunting among the stars.

 

Until one day, when he was on the planet Kamino, and he saw the strangest sight...

 

in the shopping distict. It looked like a huge...

squid.

 

(Good, somebody caught it.)

The squid was bright orange and yellow, like the solar flares of Leejo.

 

and it just hovered in midair

 

like a piece of trash in space.

 

Then, suddenly, it exploded. Leaving it's green blood seeping into the skin of passer-bys.

 

The innocent people screamed in pain as the blood slowly ate away at their flesh. A yellowish smoke raised from the burning flesh.

 

The city HAZMAT team sprung in full gear, and began spraying the Kaminoans down with with gasoline and burning them before the toxin could spread further.

 

So Ran Starlighter (our hero's name, realized we didn't have one) ran for his life. None of the remains had landed on him, fortunatly, but he wouldn't put it past the HAZMAT folks to test him n e way. He ducked down alley after alley, blindly fleeing the scene.

 

As he round a corner, he ran into an Imperial Stormtrooper. The Stormstrooper spun around and demanded, "{kurkchh} What is your problem? {kurkchhh}?"

{} implies sound effect

 

He'd been on the other side of the law for such a short time, he doubted that he was renowned enough to have an Imperial Warrant on his head. Even so, he nervously pointed back in the direction of the marketplace and related the events.

 

"{kurkchh} Alright, now, what I'm gonna do is put ya under Imperial Arrest and.... HEY!{kurkchhh}?"

 

{kurkchhh} Ho, {kurkchhh} Hey Ho {kurkchhh}

Just kidding.

The Stormtropper drew his blaster pistol..

 

The storm trooper then realizes why the young Rodian ran as he sees a shadow looming over him...

 

It was another one of the squid things, its tentacles wrapping around a personal landspeeder, the two Ugnaught passengers dove out in terror, but two more tentacles grabbed them, bringing them to the gaping maw.

 

Just as the Ugnaughts were about to be eaten, one of them activates a thermal detonator and blows the squid, himself, and his companion to bits.

 

Ran was forunately around the corner at this time, except the thermal detonator weakened the building and it became to topple.

 

Just then, a piece of mortar fell on our young hero and crushed him.

 

You might think that was the end of his tale, but you'd be wrong.
Ran awoke in a sea of pink. His leg, chest and arm were no longer causing him active agony, just mild pain. They had been crushed when the building collapsed. The cheerful human technician outside the bacta tank waved at him, and urged him to go back to sleep, mouthing out: "You can come out in two more days"

 

Then...suddenly, something went wrong with the bacta tank as it turned a murky orange...
