Hey Liam_Vehn I am going to be disappointed if we don't see Meredith Chambers doing some ads next season. Specifically for Papa Palpatine Pizza.

Time to talk about the Draft. Here is my draft Draft schedule (do you see what I did there?) for the first round.

1. Ralltiir Starkillers (Wednesday, January 9)
2. Coruscant Senators (Thursday, January 10)
3. Mando'ade Mercs (Friday, January 11)
4. Nar Shaddaa Smugglers (Saturday, January 12)
5. Euceron Storm (Sunday, January 13)
6. Rydonni Prime Monarchs (Monday, January 14)
7. Bakura Miners (Tuesday, January 15 for both the 7th and 8th overall picks)

As we did last year, the second and third rounds will be done "silent auction style" for lack of a better term. Additionally, we will run ahead of this schedule if people choose to do so, but all teams have until these days to announce their first round selection. Any objections?

The first round is conducted in the game thread. You can find last year's draft here (I think it starts about halfway down the page). After that we go to the silent auction via PM with Trieste. All trades have to be approved by the league office first (meaning Trieste). So if you are trading your pick, you have to inform him first (again via PM).

 

This is all true.

First round when your turn comes up to make your pick, you make a post about your team making that pick from any available player. When the first round is over, you PM me your second and third round picks. I announce them as I am able to do so and inform you privately if someone else takes a player you selected with an earlier pick so you can then make another selection.

 

So is JediMaster_1977 not going to be joining us?

 

Draft schedule looks good to me.

Given how last year we went through half the first round in a day or two, it might not last an entire week.

My observations:

This might improve the draft stock of a few players, and might hurt others.
University of Bakura, Telaan Valley now has a powerhouse program.
It looks like there might be a changing of the guard in a few conferences.
Eriadu Tech is the complete package. There might be some good prospects coming from there in the next few years.

I realized after UBTV repeated that I have just created the University of Oregon of the Bak10. This has made me very unhappy. Especially since we pretty much realized that the College of Deredith & Millicient is essentially the USC of the Bak10. WHY?!?! WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though you're right--Anton Jorpik could jump in those goalkeeping standings! Of course, if the Pioneers run the spread offense, they might not transition so well to the pro game...

Gunny's going to get on me to decide who's the Oregon State of the Bak10, I can just tell.

And funny how Eriadu seems to be coming up in the galaxy. Cundertol is, despite his heritage and last name, a native Eriaduan and came up through the Slicers organization. I think you're right--we're going to see a lot of scouting come out of there!

To me this just proves that if you play the game long enough, eventually anybody can win.

 

About time the Miners win a title. But how will Trieste deal with everyone gunning for him instead of the other way around?

I know a few grumpy players who are ready to make a few Miners' heads roll next year.

And, speaking of the UBTV, you can always slap them with sanctions for recruiting violations (which should happen in RL, BTW).
