I am going to assume that Dubya is playing his way out of the game. I hope he doesn't; it's always fun to beat on the Hansons.

 

I don't think I'm overstepping things to say that yes, Dubya has indicated to me he will not be returning next season since he hasn't been able to keep up the level of posting that he wants to. I agree, it'll be sad to see the Hansons go (mainly because Bakura had a great record against them ). It's why I not-so-subtly raised the prospect of bringing new teams in to keep us above 8 plauye, neither of which are anywhere close to being official. So you're still all welcome to direct potential new players to me.

We're also going to have to talk about conference balance: is it fair for one conference to have two NPC teams if we do have to replace Nadiem with an NPC? I'm not talking about to the other conference--I'm talking about to the conference with two NPC teams. We all know how they like to run rampant over actual teams.

 

So what's going to happen to the current Chiefs players? Does Dubya have plans for them, will they just become free agents, or will we have a dispersal draft?

 

I don't know yet. But I'll find out.

 

We all know that one or two teams will pick them all up in a few minutes anyways, so there will be little to no suspense for Free Agency if they go that route.

And bring the Rangers back as the NPC!

 

No we have the "Bardan rule" in place now to prevent that sort of thing.

If I remember right, a 24 (or was it 72?) hour period in which to put in a claim on a Free Agent. If multiple teams put in claims than those are decided by coin flip.

EDIT: jcgoble says it is a 48 hour window, he is probably right.

Yes, as Trieste mentioned, I will be leaving the game (playing my way out of it, rather than just disappearing and leaving the Chiefs and you guys "high and dry"). Trieste pretty much explained the situation, so there's no need for me to repeat it. I'll be here for the remainder of the season, but will be taking a break after that. I might return at a later time, though. This is a great RPG.

As for my team, feel free to send scouts to our last game or whatever. Do whatever you want with the Chiefs players, as well as the Kashyyyk Rangers and the University of Kuat Destroyers. But I'd recommend keeping the Hansons together.

But don't do it yet! I'm still playing!

I want to see Chandrila and the Rangers return as an NPC team. Have them in different conferences, though. Dubya, you shall be missed. Your posts always brought a big smile to my face.

And for ELL posterity, let's hope the "Bardan Rule" will not have the same, traumatizing effect as the "Tuck Rule" in that other sport that some of us religiously follow.

And I'm all for ditching the Jets so that we can get the Pats back. But only if they want to leave their privileged little GCLA and come back to the big boy league.

 

So you want to promote the rangers, demote the jets, fold the chiefs, and steal the pats?

That sounds like a plan...

Now the question is... do we put them in the same conference or balance things out with one in each?
