Time had been frozen for two days now, Evie reflected as she played Scrabble with her father at the kitchen table.

Two days since everything every thing had started to go weird and she?d had to freeze time for them to get any peace. Two days since her mother had been accidentally transported to Antares when she?d tried to turn the device off. Two days since there had been frozen people in the living room.

Two days, and they were on their forth game of Scrabble as they waited for her grandfather to bring her mother home and pick up her father on the way. Her father kept winning, gaining points for words he said were real in the Antaren language.

As he laid down another letter combination, Evie sighed. ??Wiyaluh?? That?s not a word, Dad.?

?Means ?beautiful skies at dawn,?? Troy defended.

He handed her what looked like a pocket dictionary. ?See for yourself.?

As Evie flipped through what turned out to be an English/Antaren dictionary, she sighed again. Two days, and all she?d wanted to do the entire time was put her hands together, restart time, and send the people in the living room home.

She had to concede the point when she found the word he?d put down. What she wouldn?t have given for her mother to have been here at that moment, playing Scrabble with them?
