    Valerie and I are leaving in a few hours to head to Boston for the week. I will be offline for a while, but I should be able to check email sometime Monday and Wednesday.

    Bring me back a tea bag... I heard in schools people in Boston know how to throw a kickin' tea party.

    Brent, there are so many levels of wrongness in that statement.

    Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll try to fill everyone's souvenir requests. 8-}

    We got in late last night. After class tonight we are going to head into Boston and see some sights. I'll let you all know if we see anything noteworthy.

    I will have occasional access to the internet over the next few days. Talk to you later!

    Well, the General and the Mrs. have returned from Massachusetts. It was a nice little getaway, but we're happy to be at home with the boys.

    Highlights:

    • We had a beer and appetizers at the original "Cheers" restaurant. Funny thing, though...nobody knew our names. Kinda misleading, you know? We also went to the Boston FAO Schwartz store. When compared to the Vegas FAO, it was horrible. Nonetheless, it had to be done (had to pick up presents for the boys, ya know).

    • The AMC Premium Cinema and Grille - This place rocked! We paid $17.50 per person, which included all the popcorn and soda you want, to see Love Actually. First we ate at the AMC Grille, which was an upscale sort of steakhouse. From there we proceeded to the full service bar to order our drinks (the whole place was 21 and above only) and pickup some popcorn. We were then escorted to our reserved seats by an usher. The seats were extremely comfortable oversized leather chairs with a pull-out table in front of each one for finishing your meal or nibbling on dessert. There were only about 50-60 seats in the theater, and it was only about half full. For only $17.50, it was well worth it. I guess from talking to Ed that the Palace used to have one similar to this, but I heard its no longer there.

    • We spent one evening driving around Boston. That was pretty darn crazy. We got to see Fenway Park, Funeil Square, Boston Commons, and a few malls. We parked in one garage and made our way to a wonderful little Irish pub for dinner. After dinner we went to leave the garage and were almost floored by the parking fees?$15 for one hour!!!

    On the way home from Boston on Thursday night, I learned that there was going to be a sci-fi/media convention at our hotel?after we left!!! :mad: Several Star Wars, Batman, and SciFi Channel alumni were to be present, along with an unusually large number of models from magazines intended for mature audiences only. That notwithstanding, I was really bummed that I was going to miss out due to the timing.

    Valerie and I were booked on separate flights coming back this morning, but she was able to fly standby on both of my flights. She read while I watched the Extended edition of TTT and talked with another fanboy on the plane about the Matrix trilogy. I plugged the TFF to the guy as well in case he ever decided to let his inner geek out of the closet.

    Oh well, we?re really happy to be home.

    Glad to hear you guys had a great time.

    I gotta say that the 21 and older theatres are typically a great experience. I know that I have enjoyed visiting them! Much nicer than the typical family theatres.
