What do you make of the Galaxy's new signing?

 

Well, it was a necessary move, and a significant upgrade. Saunders has been garbage lately. He was 100% at fault for the Houston goal in MLS Cup final. Plus, Cudicini is coming fairly cheaply, on a free transfer - seems like a no brainer.

Ah, the non-DP status was confirmed? It hadn't been a few hours ago. In that case, it seems like a good move. Tottenham's made some strange choices for their keepers, but that's really for the other thread.

 

I haven't seen confirmation, but Ives reported it was almost certainly non-DP given his recent role/status at Spurs.

 

Clint Dempsey has already opened his scoring total for the 2013 Calendar year. Love that man. nice strike from distance.

Sounders have sent Montero on loan

he is off to Millianaros in his native Columbia. Six month loan with the Columbian club holding an option to extend 6 more and/or buy. Can't imagine why SSFC do this unless they have someone MAJOR lined up (Drogba?) As they get nothing from this ... not even allocation money.

 

Wow, that is a head scratcher. There have been Drogba - Sounders before.

 

If you haven't yet, you should read Brian Phillips take on the recent Blatter infection. He really does well in pointing out that we're all right that Blatter is missing the point, but we're not focused on the point he's really missing.

 

Good read. The thing is keeping soccer as a sport that people play and follow past the youth stage, though.

USMNT roster announced for January's "Camp Cupcake". No real shocks with camp being what it is. Surprised that Buddle got the call with his horrible season last year. Disappointed in no Eddie Gaven.


Also, 3 finalists too host Costa Rica game: Salt Lake, KC, and Denver.

 

Robbie "Waste of a Roster Spot" Findley is headed back to MLS ... and back to RSL.

I'm amused that the team from Washington is playing the team from Colorado on 4/20, and that the game will be a mile high.

Not happy with the Crew's rough opening stretch, with so many road games to start. Could be rough. Also not sure why Portland gets to many national TV games.
