FF:WA Outer Rim Email List

Currently most of us are online though not everyone checks these boards recently. I've been thinking it would be a good idea to start a mailing list. It would pretty much be an email list but for those in future who aren't online it could expand to accomodate them.
Here's the deal. When there's a meet or something else of interest to OR members, I'll send you an email with the details. If you'd like to be on this list, send me an email. I already have email addresses for many of you guys but send me an email anyway. I know several of you have more than one email address so I'd like to be sure I've got the right one to send it to. Once the website is finished, I'll include a form for people to add themselves to the list.

I actually had a recent upgrade to my iiNet account. They added a swag of extra features to web affilliate accounts. One is that I can now set up majordomo mailing lists. For those who don't know what that is, it's a mailing list that pretty much manages itself. People subscribe and unsubscribe themselves whenever they want to.
I was thinking it would be a great way to make sure everyone's aware of what's coming up. I decided to let our illustrious secretary do it though. I just need to show her how. once it's set up, we can send an email to all the people who sent their addresses previously, telling them how to get on the list. We can also post the details here for everyone else. Stay tuned.

 

I was going to offer this before, I guess its to late. Oh well I have another suggestion for the web site. How about a Calander page where we can put down upcoming meets or events. People can check out that one page so they know what is on and where. But once again is would only be for people that don't check there email or dont want to be part of the mailing list. Just another idea to throw in there...

 

Or for people who can't be bothers checking their email to see what's on. In any case, a good idea.
I think that sometime soon we could perhaps have a meeting to discuss the website. Not a general meeting for everyone in the fanclub, but just one for anyone who wants to help out with/have a say on the club website.

 

Yeah that might be a good idea. Generate some ideas on here first then discuss them over hot chocolate.

 

If it's at our place it will more than likely be Milo & Tim-Tams.
