Do you think you're able to manage this bar, with your alcoholic problem

Of course I can, I'll have you know ;)

Seems to be that this thread develops to a FIGS derivative

    Everything is going as planned...

    So, how is everyone today?

Fine, apart from the whole new year at uni thing, fresher's flu and an evil reading list :)

    How 'bout you?

I've only got about 20 minutes or so, so get your orders in now

That's all right, Damon. I'll help myself ;)

It's nice to see that we haven't scared everyone off :D

Everyone knows me. I'll have 4 or 5 beers and some mixed drinks to get started.

    Got any donuts? :)

Sure! Pretty much any foodstuff or drink is available down in the depths of Coruscant.

Any particular type of doughnut wanted?

*gives Rick a beer to think on*

    :)

Yes, DamonD, I'm especially fond of GLAZED donuts. Chocolate or plain is fine.

Beer and/or mixed drinks go GREAT with donuts. Can't get enough! Hope you've
got plenty. I eat and drink like a horse.

I see you prefer the more formal "doughnut" spelling. That's cool. To me, it's not how you spell it, it's how the donuts go down with some fine brew.

The stress of film production is huge.
But the donuts and alcohol helps ease
the pressure. It's a good thing Lucas
    won't be doing episodes 7, 8 or 9. By
the time that was all over, I'd make
    Jabba look sveldt.

Hmmm. I'm a fan of jam doughnuts myself. Try eating one without licking your lips. It's almost impossible.

    Doughnuts. It's a British thing :)

All this talk of doughnuts is making me feel rather peckish. Got any crisps, Damon? Grilled steak McCoys, for instance?

    And a drink :)

Oh, heh. Yes, since I'm British we've always used the 'doughnuts' spelling. That was just automatic from me.

*pulls out a big box from under the counter*

    Let's see now...eclairs...muffins...ah, doughnuts/donuts.

    *rummages around*

Honey...jam...hmm *tries one* well, apple filling...ah, here we are.

*gives Rick two chocolate doughnuts, and another beer*

There you go, sir. And bonus points for the use of the word 'sveldt'.

*gives Ariadne a packet of Grilled Steak Real McCoys*

    And...your usual...

*gives Ariadne a vodka 'n' coke*

*brings out the big box again*

    ...here we go.

    *gives China a choccy eclair*

It's funny, but when I mentioned those I thought someone would want one...

The mere mention of a chocolate eclair is enough to bring people stampeding into the thread ;)

Damon may I have a donut to my coke, too?

    Thanks, DC :)

I will miss him, the furry maniac that he was.

His sister is now the only family feline remaining in my household. She'll have to start chasing her tail and hiding on top of doors now. Life is interesting when a large tomcat launches himself from the top of a door onto your head ;)

The problem with keeping a litter of kittens is that they all get old at the same time :(

Their mother, now she was evil [face_devil]

I love my cats. All of them. [face_love]

    Any other cat people here?

    Sorry about your cat,Ariadne :(

I'm more of a doggie person (cats scare me a bit.Whenever I'm around, they stare ...and stare...and then stare some more).
But still,I know what's it's like to lose a pet. The best remedy is another pet,I think...

Think of him enjoying himself in feline heaven...and then (if possible)get yourself a cute little kitten...
You'll be smiling at the very thought of it..
    :)

Thanks for the eclair, Damon. Can I please have a vodka and coke :)

BlackAdder, I would get a kitten if I wasn't worried that my dog would hurt it. He loves cats a bit too much. Our adult cats are big enough to deal with him, but a kitten might get hurt in rough play.

On the other hand, all the kittens we've raised (a fair few litters worth) have been little demons possessed of uncomfortably sharp needlelike claws... But we had a Golden Retriever then, and he just ignored them. Terriers are a bit more excitable.

    Too excitable, sometimes [face_plain]

*gives Ariadne a vodka 'n' coke*

    I've had 5 cats in my time...currently, I have two. Kenny, an 18-year-old grey-and-black tabby female...and Milo, a 4-year-old ginger-and-white tomcat.

DamonD,you deal with the drinks here ?

Well, make mine a double Mr Walker(black)with ice..it'll be what I'll be having for the 10 years to come.

    :)

Ariadne : it's been my experience that some dogs do get along with kittens. You'll know more than I do on the subject,I guess and I think it's lovely that you have both cats and doggies :)

My parents have an alsatian right now but my absolute favourite dog would be an Irish Wolfhound. I have neither the means nor the space to have one now -I'm still studying -but I intend to as soon as possible....

Me is scared of cats (for some reason) :(
    Cats stare !
A neighbour had one called "La-la" (yes, teletubby reference) and it used to STARE ,and I mean stare ,whenever it saw me.
I kept imagining what unspeakably devilish things might be going through its mind, and our old Douglas Adams taught me to beware of weirdly cute animals :)

    *sips his double whisky*

Hmm....I like this club. I might pop in more often...
