Overall Symbolism

I feel that throughout the whole original trilogy there is a strong symbolism of good and bad (kinda obvious) but the whole feeling of this is so very powerful that it is almost brilliant. You can easily get into the characters and what they are feeling throughout the whole film. Lucas mastered this brilliantly and I've always thought this. There is a strong line between good and bad. Simple.

In the new trilogy however this is a lot more blurred. With anakin's slow decent to the dark side and his effect on every main character it is really hard to see the symbolism.

We will have to see how this develops in the ROTS and whether Lucas manages to strenghten the line.
