Owen Lars

okay, in AOTC when anakin and padme go the the moisture farm owen greets them and says "I guess I'm your half brother, I had a feeling you'd come back." (or something along those lines) but what I don't understand is that if watto sold shmi to cliegg lars 10 yrs ago (approx.) and they got married and had owen, why isn't owen 10 years old ? I've thought about growth acceleration but i don't think cliegg had the resources.

 

Um . . . "half brother." Owen is Cliegg's son, but not Shmi's. He was born probably about the same time as Anakin as they look about the same age (Owen may be a bit older).

 

but Owen has to be shmi's son also or else he and anakin wouldn't be half-brothers (a.k.a. they share one parent) cliegg lars has no relation to anakin whatsoever, he's just some random moisture farmer. i think it was just a mistake on George Lucas' part.

 

He says "step" brother, not half brother...Oh Brother....
