Awesome! Did you get to forge any of those swords? I'd love to join SCA but I'm at hobby capacity.

 

There are a few SCAdians who forge swords, but most of us just buy them off the rack. An unexpected inheritance or windfall might lead to having a blade custom made, but swords are almost always manufactured in factories. Armor, on the other hand, is much easier for do-it-yourselfers and amateurs to make their own. And then there's the clothing; there are many amazing tailors who sew their own garb with skill and craftsmanship that just boggle the mind.

 

What Sarge said. I used commercial epée blades. I do forge my own checks, though.
