Hey, one of my best friends lives in Brisbane!

Although, to be fair, she hates it there and only went back to be with her folks when her dad was diagnosed with cancer.

 

See? It even gives people actual cancer.

 

Cor, that was a really good interview. You asked great questions and in a great way, which elicited great responses from old ES. It was great fun to read, and as opposed to most long posts on here, its length was a boon.

 

Good interview. It should be required reading before posting in the JCC.

Thank you Ender Sai for answering my question (again). I can 100% relate to the metal head outsider (even though I was in public, co-ed school - Horns up!) and I think you had an extremely interesting take on Lucas' desire to create the prequels.

Heaven knows you will have some utterly fascinating and probably dead accurate views on the U.S. after our utterly embarrassing election (and, worse) upcoming Presidency.

Ender forgot the part where he actively worked against the mods who didn't keel to his BS. There were a few of us, and I'm sure we have stories that we can't tell because of MS secrets. But man, the day he realized I became TF.n Staff instead of just Lit Mod (and therefore had access to the servers if I wanted) was... a day.

Also... New York, you say? Let vin and I know in advance and we'll book all of the top spots on Christopher Street in advance of your visit for you...

dp4m, what was the thing that got Kimball demoted from Admin? I really cannot remember it.

 

I think I was gone by then? I remember Lord Bane and CarterTFN though...

Kimball was the bet rules lawyer in Mod Squad that ever did rules lawyer though...

 

What? No you were there you senile oldbie!

Remember? We had that big discussion about how Karen Traviss was being treated? I was pretty much the only non-Lit mod going "We have no films let's not piss the bloody authors off too?"

If it's any consolation I remember KK saying you were the second best rules lawyer.

 

Ender was born the same year I was??!! Oh ****!

 

Only just got through the full interview . . . I had to read it in chunks because it's so dense. Great job, to both Cor and Ender! And I don't say that just because I finally got a D&D character. Only MOSTLY because I finally got a D&D character. (Actually it was a great mixture of probing and entertaining. And we know how entertaining probing can be.)

Also, I truly don't disappear for weeks and months at a time. I'm here every day, usually multiple times a day. I just don't post when I can't think of anything to say.

 

I'm fairly certain I'm one of the top fifty or so JCers. With "Rogue" in their name, that is.

We really do need a secret history of the Mod Squad though. That would be unbelievably readable. The Bane/Carter thing is one of my all time favorite memories of this place. And people call you a loser if you have nothing to do on major holidays than hang around the MS. I wouldn't have missed that for the world.

Kimball though . . . I feel like I was not a mod when he got demoted. But we had a few run-ins. And, yeah, he was . . . very exacting, shall we say. Letter by letter, line by line kind of guy. Cross your t's & dot your i's. I think "fury" would best describe my feelings is what I'm trying to say.

I remember that big Traviss discussion. And dp's focus group! And patchworkz7. Traviss' "friend".
