Lit Pablo hidalgo's twitter (All Eu is non-canon) [or not]

Is nobody going to bring up Pablo's twitter that he deleted for some reason, where he said that not only is the force unleashed non-canon but so is the rest of the Eu. This seems to spring from the lucasfilm story group that was formed after disney bought lucasfilm.

Anyone have any more info on this or anything to add?

 

I feel like this has been brought up quite a bit.

 

I know but there hasn't been a thread for it, plus i was looking in the episode 7 thread and found nothing. I really want to know what people think and know more info about this.

 

I think it's a shame but am completely unsurprised. It's likely so they feel they control all content that 'matters'.

 

This is the same policy that's been in place since the late 90s.

LucasFilm differentiates between 'canon' and 'continuity.' The films, TCW, and Rebels are considered 'canon,' while the rest of the Expanded Universe is considered 'continuity,' and it's all maintained for consistency, but canon trumps continuity. When Pablo or whomever says something isn't canon, it means it didn't originate from Lucas, but it's still in continuity.

 

head/personal canon aside, I harken back to my whee little self in 5th grade reading Young Jedi Knights: Lightsaber and remembering how awesome it would be to train at the academy and make my own lightsaber! Shame on them, hiding in a hole for years and then bulldozing everything that others contributed in their absence.

 

Do you have the actual message? is this a new development? or is this the same interpretation of the message from a few months ago about the story group consolidating the canon?

apparently no more EU toys according to Lucas, guess he started to feel maybe a little bad taking money for something he denies exists
