Hey there, my girlfriend is trying to find a pattern for the overcoat of the costume mentioned in the title. Does anyone know if there is an existing one that can be modified, or a tutorial to make one from scratch?

FenigDurak and kellilla both made this costume, and kay_dee is currently working on it.

As StormtrooperPrincess mentioned, that thread has lots of good info for this costume.

Hi - there is a good summary of the tips and patterns for this costume at the Padawan's Guide. I have been slowly working on this costume for the past year, and FenigDurak has made one as well (we have both contributed information to Padawan's Guide).

Another pattern that can be used for the bodice that isn't mentioned at Padawan's Guide is Simplicity 8881. However, I would personally not recommend using this as a farthingale pattern since it's a bit on the large side. Margo Anderson makes an Elizabethan underpinnings pattern that works perfectly with no alterations needed for the farthingale.

If you have more questions, please see the Padme Purple Dress thread (the dress photograps blue, but people who have seen it in person on display at Celebration II found that it is actually purple or blue-violet).

    Hope that helps,

    Kay Dee
