Padme - Anakin

I suppose this has been discussed before, but I can't find the information I want, so I'll just ask...

What is the age difference between Padme and Anakin?

 

5 years.

 

As far as I know, it's 4 years.

I think what confuses people is that Anakin is 9 years old in TPM and Padmé is 14. However, Anakin is turning 10 that year, because 10 years later, in AOTC, he is 20 and Padmé is 24. So the age difference would therefore be 4 years.

it's 4... she was "14" in TPM... and ani was "10"

 

He must be turning 10, because 10 years later, he's 20. I also know that I've read it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now.

 

Lexi is correct about Anakin's age. I also read it somewhere and don't remember now.

 

on the biography for anakin on starwars.com it says how he was 9 in the first one and 20 years old in the second.

 

five years isn't a big deal

especially with someone as mature as anakin

Natalie was 18 at the time.

 

Natalie was born in 1981, so in 1999 when the movie came out she was 18, but when they were filming in '97+'98 she was 16/17

 

I always thought it was more along the lines of a 4 1/2 years or something of that nature, with his birthday a few months before hers. That would explain why she's five years older than him in TPM and four years in AOTC.

I can buy Natalie as 14 in TPM. *shrugs* I had friends who looked several years their senior at 14. And she's dressing to look more mature. As far as AOTC goes, she's closer to the age of the character, and she's dressing down, so she'd look less matronly and more young maiden.

 

Ah I see. I think Anakin looked WAY too young in TPM. He looked about 8, and Natalie about 17 and so...as you can see, I thought there was a bigger age difference, and that just kind of sickened me. A little, not enough to hate their relationship though.
