It's a decoy!

Trust me, I looked close, and that is Padmé's handmaiden playing her part yet again. She does look quite a lot like the former senator and queen, but don't be fooled.

Padmé was afraid that someone might try to assassinate the Gungan senator (yes, the rumors are true, he's the new senator), and old habits die very hard indeed.

 

That's right. And if you look really closely, you can see that it's not actually Jar Jar, but rather his decoy manservant Dyk H'eed.

 

I'm not a big fan of humor.

 

I heard Padme hooks up with a king or a deserting soldier... or maybe both, at separate times! I'm sure that's much Closer to the truth than this rumor.

 

She's going to be captured by Vader and sent to a death camp on Coruscant, a homage to the Holocaust of the forties. She is nearly starved to death, but Luke, Obi-1, Obi-2, and the droids are going to rescue her and most of the prisoners.
