Oceania Paid Maternity Leave

    I work as a nurse, an area which has the highest ratio of female:male employment ratio. If there was no such thing as maternity leave, there will be less nurses, which means the health system will crash as the hospitals will have to close down beds to accommodate for the little nurses they have.
    As it is, people are putting off having children due to work issues which I will not go into as there are a huge number to many. But it does make life easier for the husband if the mother get's paid maternity leave instead of having put all the pressure of the husband to bring home the money.... Babies are expensive. So in the end... would you (if you were a father and earning little money) want to take a second and even third job to pay for food and bills.... not to mention baby items

    ps maternity leave is only for a max of 3 months paid leave
