Palpatine's first name?

I believe I read somewhere that it was meant to be "Cos." Cos Palpatie. I think reading somewhere, and I think it was from this site, that they actually added "Cos" onto the credits of one of the films, but I forgot if it was on ROTJ or on one of the new films.

Can someone comfirm that for me? does anyone know what I'm talking about?

 

Cos does not appear on any of the credits.

The name Cos kicks around as a possible first name for Palpatine because the name for an Emperorlike character in the old drafts was "Cos Da****".


Now, if I were a betting man, I'd say Palpatine's first name is Frank.
After all... TPM... "I must be Frank..."

If you go to imdb.com and look at TPM, AOTC, and EIII, at least one, possibly more of them, has his name listed as Cos Palpatine. All other things being equal, I would think they got that from an official source.

 

palps' first name is unknown, it isn't even certain that he has one.

maybe cos means Chief of State.

 

Actually, I think it calls him Senator Cos Palpatine, but I'm not completely sure.

 

Don't trust IMDB. Any fool can go and add info about something. For a while, Yoda's name was listed as "Yoda D'Kana the Whill", and Anakin was listed as being played by someone called Simon Jordao.

I agree with Adam. I've fixed up a few quotes here and there for IMDB. I can't stand it when someone quotes a movie wrong and it is put up on IMDB.

Dantius is what SS called him, but I wouldn't put any faith in it being true.

At least it's a very solid name. He actually looks more like a Steve or a Francises to me
