Palpy reminds me of a Vampire

As the mild-mannered Senator he seems innocent enough. But Ian did a nice job showing the darker sides of Sidious coming through when he was alone with Anakin. I found it interesting that Palpy KNEW that Anakin would turn before he did.

That said, I kept thinking "vampire" once Palpy's face changed in the Windu confrontation. The snarls, behavior, etc...it reminded me of a vampire whose soul has been bared for all to see. That the Senate failed to pick up on the taint was interesting.

 

read DE and DE2 (especially 2) to see him as he looked when he was young, and trust me, thats exactly what i thought.

 

I think he looks like Mr Burns..or is that the other way around?

Well, I think Palpatine seems to be like "Benedict XVI" pope of the catholic church; Actually I think that in the credits should appear: "Featuring: Benedict XVI as THE EMPEROR" =D

Heheh...i can actually imagine Palpatine twiddling his fingers as he says that in the Mr. Burns way ... "Excellent".

but yah, palps is kinda vampiric in a way --- especially with his choice of wardrobe and how pale his skin is (that basturd!). good thing he doesn't turn into a bat --- apparently, that's dooku's specialty !

 

Actually I remember reading that Mr Burns is based on the Emperor. Apparently whenever he appeared in early Simpsons episodes he was musically accompanined by a few chords of the Imperial March.

Plus his office is supposed be like the Throne room..esp the window design behind him.

Speaking of Burns, it's nice to see that Sidious used "excellent" in ATOC.

 

I thought that when he stands up from his window ledge and walks towards Ani, he looks exactally like Count Orloc. Nosferatu, the 1922 silent movie, for all who dont know. First on-screen vampire he was...
