no im not kidding!early drafts of star war,ie the adventures of luke starkiller described luke as a 3ft tall humanoid, han solo as a green skinned alien with gills!even without the changes its the story of a simple, innocent person thrown into the middle of a mortal battle between good and evil, aided by a ragtag band of warriors including an elderly wizard, seasoned warrior(ok,my theory isnt concrete but you get my drift right?)star wars ep iv,fellowship of the rebellion!dont get me wrong,i like lotr, but im the biggest sw fan ever, but the comparisons are undeniable-its not the most original story ever right?good against evil?but sw is lotr in space at least partly, same as harry potter is lotr at school, who cares theyre all great!

I saw that pic in the Art of Star Wars when I was 8...

Lucas "ripped off" LOTR, and a manifold assembly of other sources the way ALL authors do: he took their ideas and ran with them... just like J.R.R. Tolkien.

    And Peter Jackson...
