In the spirit of the fun and successful AOTC Awards Thread, I bring you "The AOTC Awards Part II" thread, with all NEW categories to vote on. Last time out, over 200 voters participated. Be a part of the action again!

Voting will go on for a week and a half. If you are reading this after June 25th, 2002, please do not vote. Votes will likely have all been counted by this time.

And now, some guidelines (please follow carefully):

-Best and Worst Extra apply to only those characters with NO lines in the movie. Therefore, Ki-Adi-Mundi would not qualify, however, Kit Fisto would.

-Best/Worst Shot are not the same as Best/Worst Scene. "Shot" refers to one frame of the movie (i.e. Anakin perched on the cliff overlooking the Tusken Raider camp or Padme on top of Anakin in the field). Pick one that stands out to you or don't pick one at all if you don't feel like it.

-Best Weapon/Gadget: Please, no vehicles. They were taken care of last time out.

-Do not confuse Best Planet with Best Set. Best Planet is pretty straightforward -- Best Set would be something like Jango's Apartment. Please vote on Best Set with as little regard to CGI sets as possible, as we have already had a CGI category in the past.

-Vote on things that appeared in AOTC. Please do not draw from the other films.

-If you can't decide between two things and come up with a tie, that particular vote will not be counted but the rest of your ballot will still be valid.

-You don't have to fill out a complete ballot. Vote for as few or as many categories as you wish.

-Feel free to post comments after your votes! They WILL be used in the Awards Presentation. If you don't believe me, check the last awards thread.

There may just be some people out there saying, "Man I just hate that freakin' Geonosis. Now that planet sucks!"

Best Extra: Thos girls in the thongs at the nightclub....HOT!!

Best Weapon/Gadget: Dooku's Lightsaber.

Worst Weapon/Gadget: Those long electric rods the geonosians used to taunt the arena creatures.

Dolemite - I suppose. I intentionally DID leave it out, but I'll change it to be consistent.

EDIT: Hey first 3 or 4 voters, I added a Worst Planet due to demand... you may edit your original post or add a separate post detailing which planet you hate.

 

Oh, sorry. You don't really need to do that.

I just know that some people will complain about ANYTHING in the movie.

Best Planet: Coruscant (it was vivid, full of life, and we got to see it from many different angles.)

Worst Planet: Naboo (it was more interesting the first time around.)

Best Extra: the dug in the diner

Best Shot: the shot of Padme's cruiser entering the frame just after the opening crawl (ominous and foreboding, a harbinger of things to come)

Worst Shot: Anakin's expression after having professed his love in the fireplace scene (Hayden Christiansen is a hot guy, but he looks goofy when his eyes bulge in this shot. Should have been cut).

Best Weapon/Gadget: that spherical thing the delivers the worms to Padme's apartment.

Worst Weapon/Gadget: Super battle droids (just lame looking).

Best Costume: Padme's white outfit.

Worst Costume: Padme's outfit when returning to Naboo.

Best Set: Jango's landing platform on Kamino (a location that is now permanently part of the SW visual lexicon)

Worst Set: Padme's apartment on Coruscant (could have been so much more interesting).

Best Extra: Thong-girl in the club. 'Nuff said.
Best Shot: Mace walking into Dooku's box. A bada$$ moment.
Best Weapon/Gadget: Seismic charge. That can be considered a weapon/gadget, right?
Best Costume: Padmé's white jumpsuit. Again, 'nuff said.
Best Set: The dining room on Naboo.
Character You Wish Hadn't Died: Shmi. Her death may lead to the downfall of the Republic, and more importantly, the death of Padmé.

 

Best Planet: Kamino - the stormy atmosphere creates so much suspense before the Obi/Jango whoop-fest.

Worst Planet: Naboo - can we just Death Star the damn place already?

Best Extra: The thong lady in the nightclub... I shouldn't have to explain this; it's the best of both worlds: Star Wars and thongs (wisely used thongs, may I say)

Worst Extra: Kit Fisto - hey, Barry Sonnenfeld called, you're due back on the set of Men in Black II in five minutes...

Best Shot: the shot of Mace slowly walking towards Count Dooku, Jango, and company on Geonosis

Worst Shot: that shot of a grinning, self-content Jar-Jar Binks after he gets the applause of the Senate. this is wrong on so many levels... I can't afford to see Jar Jar Binks 'HAPPY'! GAH!!!!

Best Weapon/Gadget: lightsabers - when you positively, absolutely have to chop off a mammajamma's arm; except NO substitutes

Worst Weapon/Gadget: Super Battle Droids - why are they super? because they push other droids out of the way?

Best Costume: again, thong girl gets my vote... on any other character, like, say... Dexter Jettster, it would have been horrible, but thong girl pulls it off!

Worst Costume: Jar Jar Binks' Senator outfit - the guy deserves to wear the rack or the iron maiden, something...

Best Set: the room where the younglings trained... ESPECIALLY when that sweet starmap was activated

Worst Set: Dooku's balcony on Geonosis looked horribly fake

Character You Wanted to See Die: Jar-Jar Binks... I'm not a picky man: slow and painful, fast and painless, I don't care! BUT HE HAS TO GO!

Character You Wish Hadn't Died: Jango Fett - it seems that dying a horrible and humiliating death is a genetic trait of the Fetts...

Best Planet: Kamino. Geonosis is awesome, too, but it's similar to Tatooine....

Worst Planet: Naboo. I don't dislike it, it's just my least favorite. Kind of boring, and we saw an awful lot of it in TPM.

Best Extra: Gotta be Amy Allen as Aayla Secura.

Worst Extra: Katie Lucas as the Twi'lek. She was so out of character, you could just tell she was thinking "I look so cool in this costume, this is so neat, blah blah." Really horrible.

Best Shot: Not sure it qualifies entirely as it's not a single shot, but after the love pledge on Geonosis when the execution cart is being pushed into the arena, and the camera zooms out to show the crowd and the music swells up.... Gives me chills.

Worst Shot: Probably when C-3PO is holding onto that droid in the Foundry, right after R2 knocks him down. He's got a frightened expression on his face, and it's just all wrong. C-3PO should not have facial expression!

Best Weapon/Gadget: Probably those gauntlet blades that Jango used to climb back up the landing platform. Would've loved to see him use those in battle.

Worst Weapon/Gadget: That big Geonosian gun in the arena, that knocked down that pillar. That thing was freaky....

Best Costume: Anakin's Jedi garb. Really loved the colors, the leather (or was it maybe Bantha hide?) tunic....

Worst Costume: Probably Padme's costume in the packing for Naboo scene. Something strange looking about it....

Best Set: The street where Jango and Zam rendezvoused. Really had a cool dark look, but those hot pink advertisements gave it a cool splash of color.

Worst Set: Don't really have one....

Character You Wanted to See Die: Nute Gunray, maybe? Poggle the Lesser? I dunno....

Character You Wish Hadn't Died: I'll go for the obvious: Jango Fett. He was such a badass, and while I'm looking forward to seeing Boba in action in Ep3, Jango was pretty awesome.

kamino.. ok if the indiginious, then they would have gills! or some way to breath underwater...or maybe they dont breath.... but still they wouldn't make ABOVE water dwellings!
