I have begun the invasion of the Pittsburgh Steelers thread and could use some reinforcements.

What did I say in the Steelers thread, guys? Brady made the plays, Roethlisberger didn't (with some help from the Pats' D, of course).

A lot in the Super Bowl will depend on if Terrell Owens is able to play for the Eagles. If he does, I expect a tougher fight than I do if he can't.

Early line, if you're interested in such things, is Patriots -7.

How about those Pats?!?! What a great game. The defense was unbelievable yesterday, those picks and the fumble recovery early on really set the tone for the game. So much for the Steel Curtain, Brady took that curtain and laced two long bombs right through that thing. Jacksonville... here we come .

Just heard this on WEEI...according to an SI.com Extra (subscriber-side) article, Tom Brady was laid out in his hotel room w/ a sore throat, chills, a 103°F fever, and an IV tube in his left arm the night before the AFC Championship Game against the Steelers. Safe to say the legend of Tom Brady continues to grow.

I agree. During the game the other day my brother-in-law was online reading something about the Hall of Fame and he noticed that there are currently only 3 Patriots in the Hall. I think it's safe to say that number will probably triple within the next 10-15 years.

 

Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell have finalized their Super Bowl wager. Whichever team wins, the losing governor will have to sing the national anthem at an NBA game in the winning team's city while dressed in the winning team's jersey. The wager is not entirely fair, however. If the Eagles win, Mitt will have to do the job himself at the First Union Center before a Sixers game. If the Patriots win, Ed Rendell's wife Midge, who is a trained opera singer, will do the honors at a Celtics game.

 

It sounds fair to me. If the Pats win the Celtics fans will get a good rendition of the National Anthem, and if by some freak of nature the Eagles win we won't have to hear it anyway .

Speaking of bets, I heard on WAAF that the Mayor of St. Louis still hasn't paid up on his bet with Menino from the World Series .

 

The governor of St. Louis is not being nice now is he?

 

Enjoy it while you can Boys...The winds of change are blowing in the AFC East. Look to South Florida. I hate Tom Brady (but I have learned to respect him). Go Fins....

Tedy Bruschi finally got his just due. He has been named to the AFC Pro Bowl team as an injury replacement for Ravens LB Ray Lewis.
