    I agree with Kahli. Too often we're conned into believing that to be important you have to be important to *everyone*. Fact is if you are good to your friends, kind to your family, do your job well, and - most importantly - never avoid your shout down the pub, you have a worthwhile life. Anything else is just cake decoration :)

    Sure, it's depressing thinking that you're just another cog in the wheel, but 99% of people fulfil that role in society and there's nothing wrong with it. Let's face it, even astronauts and fighter pilots have their dull days.
