JCC People offended by Christmas decorations

    I actually love xmas decorations. What I am deeply offended by are the Pagan traditions trying to worm their way into our white American Christian culture by decorating evergreen trees and expecting our children to think it's okay. No real white American Republican Christian good person (anyone else is evil, btw) would use a tree to celebrate the glory of the season...which is Jesus and nothing else. Not axial tilt. That's the devil.

    The only real Christmas offense I've got these days is the fact that the NBA keeps having the Lakers play on Christmas Day, despite how terrible they've been lately.

    The worst thing about Christmas is those annoying Salvation Army bell ringers. I can ignore things I don't like or let it go, but the bells give me a headache.

    I'm offended by my own memories of Christmas decorations we had in the 70s.

    Little plastic saxophones strung on plastic holly vines with plastic red berries and -- get this! -- green plastic elves dancing thereon. This was somehow considered a passable decoration, when it's clearly saxist against elves.

    "Sexist against elves" cracked me up, as did the rest of this post.

    I think my parents strung popcorn on the Christmas tree in the 70s. Then refused to let the squirrels inside. Poor squirrels.

    I've never met anyone offended by Christmas or Christmas decorations. I myself don't decorate but I like looking at what everyone else puts up.

    This may seem like a non-sequitur (surprise: it is), but I think that's the main reason Reese Witherspoon's name in Election is Tracy Flick. It's no accident her campaign buttons say "Pick Flick" but read like "Pick... the first non-numeric syllable in that image above."
