Beyond - Legends -People Say- A Mara/Luke poem-

This is a short poem I wrote, inspired by the Hand of Thrawn duology. I was reading Vision of the Future, thinking about Luke and Mara and their relationship, and...wrote this. Constructive criticism appreciated, and of course, reviews.

People say
We're perfect for eachother
You're the son of a Sith
I was the Emperor's Hand

People say
You deserve better
You were there to help the Rebels
I was there to tear them down

People say
We couldn't be more different
You are kind and helpful
I am cruel and cold

People say
We couldn't be more similar
You're awlays falling into trouble
And somehow I always follow

People say
If you play with fire you'll be burned

I say
Not if someone's there to save you

 

I like it!

I love that part. Very nice way to end it! Hopeful.

Sounds just like Mara...

 

My husband teases me that I'm awful at "getting" poetry, but I really enjoyed and "got" this, if that makes sense. Great job, very Mara!

 

Great poem! I love Mara's thoughts on how others view the contrasts between her and Luke.

you did their love justice in the face of all their challenges...

Also, nice allusion to fire. Not only Mara's personality, but her red hair as well.
