Saga Personal tractor beams?

    So the Jedi/Sith are all cool with their telekinesis powers and such.....

    But why hasn't there ever been any mention of personal tractor beams? Then you wouldn't need the Force to pull things to you, push them away, or move them around!

    Great military advantage...having a tractor beam on a tank or something and being able to lift and throw an enemy tank or group of soldiers. Or even on a scouting mission...move boulders and obstacles out of the way instead of blasting them or going around...

    Probably technology or something.

    Granted some games like TIE Fighter explore the idea of a tractor beam on some of the Empire's starfighters, but as per the norm, it rarely, if ever, gets mentioned again.
