Beaver creek would be a no go for firearms if its where mapquest is showing it, its on a reservation. if its the one near camp verde that would be better, i think i need to go make a drive to that area and ask around for good sites.

IA: are you concerned about Elevation or what? I had no p[roblems up there last time other than the Alternative beverage causeing me some discomfert later in the evening

Only concerned about elevation insomuch as it effects ambient temperatures. Ergo, vis-a-vis, concordantly, April was suggested as timeframe for the trip, yet several people complained about how cold it was last time. Now it seems that more people are in favor of a date farther into May. I have no strong opinion about where we camp as long as my toes are thawed out by the time we leave.

as long as the weather's cooler, i'm in agreement.

if i might make a suggestion, i'd like to have a genuine cast-iron kettle hanging over the campfire to cook with, so i could cook just like samwise. though i think i'd make a nice gumbo instead of rabbit stew. anything that would go a treat over some rice.

    mmm. now i'm getting hungry.

arizonasithlord: I am indeed talking about the one near Camp Verde. I camped there a few times as a teenager and loved it. It would be a lot of fun, but hey in May temps in Flagstaff would be rockin' and there's much more forest. I know Flag better, but if I remember right there's some pretty cool country around Beaver Creek near Camp Verde that would be awesome for paintball.

well i am partial to flag as we know the area but if someone can find a decent area in sedona or campverde area im game and april mayish works as well, itll be time to get the hell outa the desert and cool off for a weekend before we get toasted here.
im looking to get some tentative planing done by the end of the year, and start the body count and equipment check after that.

    Update!
well im still up for this but i can no longer attempt to plan it
Shannon my Girlfriend/fiance has decided that i am a finacial burden on her and is leaveing me, leaveing me in a bind.
I have my job back, but will not have a reliable vehicle for awhile and am looking into haveing to find a new place of recidence in the next three months.
so i can no longer even begin to try and plan this.
my current plans are to attempt to go back to school and try and start my life over again

if any of you know of someone who might be selling a used vehicle (cheapish) and/or looking for new roommates on the east side of town let me know
wish me luck and keep me in your prayers

Well, I'm up for camping (to the extent that I can with a baby) when it warms up a bit up here. Snow's still on the ground. Last year I think we did this in April (right IA?) and while the days were warm, the nights were very cold. I think we should do this in late May or June...the weather will be extrordinary and it will be a nice escape for you Phoenicians from the desert heat. We'd be able to sleep under the stars without freezing to death.

I still have boxes of paintball ammo to use and some new camping junk to try out.

As for a time, when absolutly ever is good for me.

As for a site, how many have 4X4?
Should we pick a car friendly road to travel? :(

    -D-
My nappy mobile will take me almost anywhere :)
except through deep rivers, found out it's not a boat.

Last year we had a lot of people had cars so as long as a car can make it, we're game I suppose. Last year the road we took was quite pitted and we still made it with cars and trucks alike.

Do we want to go back to the same area this year or find a different site? I just remember last year we had a little difficulty with rocks on the paintball field.
