So this happened. If you're not a fan of the Phantasm movie series you should get your cranium drained. HL&S
Moviefan2k4 when can we expect a review? do we have to wait for the bluray or can you see it in theaters?
I'm a fan of the series and own all of them on DVD so this is exciting news for me. I didn't even know till now that a fifth installment was even being made.
Hearing the theme makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I also look forward to Moviefan2k4 reviewing this and the entire saga.
It was more than that. I spent about nine years watching horror films like crazy, until I realized my thoughts and feelings were changing for the worse. I started sympathizing more with the psychos on-screen than the victims, and it freaked me out. I was also much more prone to intense anger at that time in my life, so the freedom from both is refreshing.
It seems like a good trailer for the Phantasm universal overall. First off, it's outstanding that Angus Scrimm is still playing the Tall Man and not a stand in. Scrimm was over 70 when Oblivion came out, and he's almost 90 now... The good: -Reggie Bannister, looks to be still in a version of his ice cream uniform. -The Plymouth Barricuda -Looks like it might have a semi-decent budget again The bad: -Oblivion was so bad-and not in the "it's cheesy it's good" kind of way..It's lack of budget and lack of story really handicapped the movie. Not only that, but Oblivion was released some 16 or so years ago. I suppose this would be a nice bookend for the true fans, but even released straight to video, how much of an audience does it have? I would almost like to see this as a re-boot. If not, it will have to tread lightly to build off of Oblivion. -Not directed by Coscarelli? That's not a good sign in relation to the above.
