I live in Alaska and the game store said that the game was released into limited adition. Is this true? Did anyone else have this problem?

I doubt it. To my knowledge, the GameCube is now the only one of the big 3 that can't have online ablity in some way.

Yes. The suits in Redmond and Japan seem to think GameCube should be devoted exclusively to gaming (hence the lack of dvd support), effectively cutting their potential audience down from the size it coulda been. I mean, there's gotta be a reason why gamers will plunk down an extra $100 for a PS2 that is one year behind Xbox and GameCube in terms of pure hardware, and I think this is one of the many reasons. Course XBox did the same thing with their $30 remote control, but I digress.

They are apparently still "considering the marketability of an online strategy".

    Wake up, Redmond... Sheesh.

GC does go online with PSO, and is planning to go online with several more games coming out this year.
