First off, thanks to all the folks who made it to the EB! And thank
you for the added responsibility as a member of the Jedi Council of
SWP. From now on you have to address me as D' Jedi Master (Mwa-ha-ha-
    ha-hak-hak-ehek...)

Anyway, as the assigned OIC for Star Wars merchandise and
collections, my first order is for you guys to send in as much info
as possible on anything of interest re: SW memorabilia and
merchandise here in the Philippines or anywhere that is easily
accessible. All we collectors know how pricey SW stuff is and how
unscrupulous some dealers (or even collectors!) are in dealing them
out. So our best weapon is information. If we know where to get
stuff the cheapest, or have access to premium items for barter
instead of cash, that would really be to our benefit. Do you know of
the story of how one SW collector found himself in Tunisia and ended
up finding pieces of the krayt dragon prop used in the first movie
being used as house decor in a Tunisian hovel? That's the kind of
find that makes this hobby worthwhile! And it's not so much the
value of the item but the fun of hunting it down, and knowing that
you didn't have to spend all that much for it.

With that said, I'd like the collectors to help each other out by
sharing information on where they get their stuff, ie. stores, on-
line merchants, friendly dealers, garage sales, movie companies,
etc. There's a lot of stuff to go around so let's not be GREEDY!
Greed is the path to the Dark Side too, ya know.

And if you find or have something really nice, share it with us! I
love hearing stories about fantastic finds in the most unexpected
places. My favorite item in my collection is a wedding souvenir of a
statuette of Michael Jordan dressed up as a Stormtrooper (the groom
was a Jordan and Star Wars fan!) Share your blessings!

And last, lets fill up the Collectors album in our photos page back in the egroups page. Am I the only geek who takes pictures of his collection?! Hmmm, maybe I
    am...

    Okay, let me start ...

    1. Favorite on-line stores for SW items
    www.dnstoys.com
    www.toyzz.com
    www.brianstoys.com
    2. Check out local auction site www.bidshot.com for lots of SW items
    under category "TOYS"
    3. Check out the variant in the Nexu figure still readily available
in Toy Kingdom. Check out the pic @
    <http://www.rebelscum.com/article.asp?i=9184>
    4. Must See Store : Ram's Hobby Shop, 4th level Festival Mall Alabang
    5. Must have item : SW E2: AOTC Movie poster and teaser poster / I
know someone from Warner who's selling it at P400 each but does
anyone know someone who can give it away for free? :)

By the way, Ginny did mention that I'm giving away some prizes
as "incentives" for the next EB, so...

    - A Star Wars T-shirt to the person who brings the most friends for
    our next EB.
    - 2 Star Wars Action figures (E1 Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan Jedi Knights) to
the best logo design for Star Wars Philippines

    Get to it, Force Fans!

By the way, here are other urban legends about SW collecting in the Philippines. Both of which are certified true because i know the lucky bastards...

Edmund Yanga, proud toy geek found carded 1985 POTF Anakin (yup, the one with the coin) in Divisoria for P50 ($1) back in 1999. And that was the least of the treasure horde he scored in his many years of SW hunting.

A collector friend of mine Ian, once scored a boxed 80's 12-inch Stormtrooper in a garage sale for just P500 ($10)

Another collector friend of mine, Bing, bought his entire SW vintage figure collection including the very hard to find Jedi Luke, Amanaman at just P50 each.

    and...

I was able to buy the first issue of Marvel's Star Wars #1 with the 35-cent price in pretty good condition in Booksale for P14 back in March 2000.

There's still lots out there so Happy Hunting!!

Cholo, where can I find vehicles from the OT? Up to now I can't believe I lost my snowspeeder...with the PILOT, to boot.

One of the best places to start looking is Jun Tolentino's stall in 3rd level Virra Mall Greenhills. I don't know what it's called pero you can't miss it kasi it's lined wall to wall with SW Toys and other action figures. I'll source around for a Snowspeeder. Also check out Rams Hobby Shop in Festival Mall Alabang.

The store I'm referring to is on the 3rd level Virra Mall on the wing opposite the one that burned down last year. Jebbs is in Shoppesville. It's two floors above Best toy shop. Go up the stairs on the side of Virra entrance facing Annapolis st. Enter the first lane (I think it's Camia). First left. It's near Comic Sale Central. The owners are Jun Tolentino and Edmund Yanga.

ginny, you've got to put your name in on the reservations list at a Powerbooks store (try the one at Megamall). that's how i get my Tolkien books and so far it works. i've asked them to reserve the AOTC Incredible Crossection books for me. reminding them weekly doesn't hurt either ;)

I did that, DarthScully. Have my name down in the list at Powerbooks in Makati. It's weird 'cause sometimes, I'll get a call. When I return their call, the book isn't there, or I'm not yet up for a copy or something. Stupid, really. But I did that already. (sigh) It's just taking them so blasted long to get their stocks replenished. Darn.

Did the Visual Dictionary ever make an appearance at all? Hrmmmm....

But I still want a Yoda.

No more Vader (the I-am-you-father-so-you-better-join-me-or-I'll-crush-your-balls Bespin pose)!

    No Yoda.

There also was a Jabba the Hutt (with ooze), but it's gone also. There's still a Clone Trooper, some Hoth expendable soldier, plus the 12" figures of Jar Jar (Jar Jar!), Palpatine, etc.

    Still no Yoda.

Right beside Funtasmic, the little cornerstore there has these Power of the Force toys...old Annie, Maul, little Jedi Annie, et al.

Yoda, you say? Go look for him at Ebay. Or Amazon.

Can you post a list of the vintage figures you have for sale and the price?

Really interested. Looking for a vintage Jedi Luke Skywalker, Bespin leia, Wicket Ewok and any 1985 POTF figure especially ANakin, Imperial Dignitary, Han Stormtrooper, and Amanaman.
