It's that time again, the Phillies start up the 2004 season with a lot of promise and high expectations. Will Pat Burrell bounce back from his horrid 2003 season? Will Larry Bowa implode? Many more questions await our beloved Phils.

But I'm optimistic that this could possibly be our year, especially with Cole Hamels waiting in the wings.

The park looked great on TV. I'd like to get the chance to see a game there sometime. So does all this hype about how good they are going to be this season make you cringe, cause you know how our teams are? ;)

It doesn't make me cringe. We'll see how they do today against the Pirates. Let's go Phillies!

The funny thing in all this is that they were the WORST team in preseason... 10-21, worst record of all the NL teams.....

Yeah, that did concern me a little bit, but the pre-season doesn't mean anything. And remember, they didn't have Thome for most of it.

The real season starts today at 4pm.

The season is still early. They just need to get clicking.

And Bobby Abreu back in the third spot, and he hits a home run in his first AB at the Cit. :D

It's a good thing. Let's see how they do against the Marlins in this next series. If they can take 2 out of 3, then things are going well.

I was at the Ballpark on Saturday. It's very nice, despite the crowds.
I'm glad that their bats have finally come alive, but I'll wait to hop on the wagon until after I see what they do this upcoming series with the Marlins. It's one thing to beat the Reds and Expos, but another thing entirely to beat the Marlins and Astros.

Yeah, big issues. We beat the stuffing out of the Fish back in 2002, now we can't even compete with them.

This is just getting ridiculous against them. At least Pratt showed some balls by standing up for his pitcher.

You're going to have a great time at the ballpark. It's a beautiful facility.

    I plan on it!

Specially when I give one of the players a huge scare, as I know them and they won't be expecting to see me ;)

I finally get to go the Cit today and it rains pretty much the entire time I'm there. It's an absolutely amazing park though. However, there's no way I'm waiting 2-3 innings just for Tony Luke's.

So, my wife and I took the kids (7 & 2 years old) out to see the Phils this past Friday. We all had a blast. What a great park!

The 2-year-old loved every minute of the experience. He did in fact watch some of the game, but of course he went nuts over the "-natic" and "TVs" and "more lights" just as much. My 7-year-old daughter has been playing T-ball this year, so she watched the game pretty intently.

    Defintly worth the trip.
    Have fun.

Jim Thome became the 37th man in baseball history to hit 400 Home Runs. He got it in the bottom of the 1st inning with a runner on base that tied the game at 2. Let's hope the rain holds off.

    Way to go Thome!

    Pants not make one great.
