Phx Phoenix FanForce Icon

Okay y'all. There's a new trend amongst the JC icons (sorta). Several of the Fan Force city groups have been creating JC icons for use by their members. You may have seen some of them around. Here's a few that are currently up (Chicago, Indianapolis, Omaha):

Let's get one up for Phoenix!! Here's info for the icon requirements:

50 x 50 pixels
must be a .gif file

Easy, eh? Whoever wants to design one, go for it! We'll all vote for our favorite once everyone that wants to has done one. I have no problem hosting the images on my site until we pick the finalist, so we can all see what they'll look like normally, instead of all distorted and wierd on the message board (like the above images look).

Here's one that I whipped up real quick...

Click on it to see the actual size. The gray "fuzz" you'll see wouldn't be visible against the blue-gray background the icons are on. I actually used that background color when I created the icon, so that it would look good.

The hex code for the background color is #D3D1DB.

Just an idea, but if the Fan Force cities can have their own icons, why not make an icon for the 501st?

I really liked Angela's "Got Armor?" t-shirt with the Imperial symbol behind it.

Now, I'm sure you meant something generic for the entire 501st, or maybe even our garrison...But dang it, these are just cool!

How are these variations on the same basic design of Rebel Insignia filled with flames?

Once you get down to that small a size, it's real tricky to get any decent detail.

I've been trying to create one for my own Fanforce, and have actually tried working with the Phoenix symbol. I didn't want to say anything until it was finished (which it isn't ), but yours rocks the house, kreleia! I also like aztrooper0013's Rebel insignias. I'd go with the bottom, because the red makes the name stick out more, and helps identify the specific group (where as just the flames wouldn't).

Anybody interested, here's some I've come up with for Minnesota.

No. I reserve the right now to put up sucky icons.

All I really did was take a screen capture of Phoenix's banner and then crop it to just the Phoenix (bird). Basically what Subjugator did, just not half as well.

hmm...

i'm tied between krelia's and subjugator's first red one, just because it ties in with the banner and the site.

aztrooper i like your idea, but maybe if you had a picture of the phoenix/tatooine in there it would be a little more obviously phoenix-ish. unless you did that already and i'm just blind, rofl.

i have crappy adware art programs but i might try making something...

I guess what I was going for was combining the Phoenix bird with the Rebel insignia, but when it's that small, detail just bleeds away.

If anyone else can accomplish this, pleqase do.

I know what you mean Kevin. I've been trying and trying to do exactly that - except with the Imperial insignia as well. It's been a challenge to say the least - and I'm using the full 200 x 205 graphic. ; Oh well. I keep coming closer to something workable each time, so I'll let you know if/when it happens.

Yeah, I've found that 50x50 is just too small of a picture to really get any detail at all, or it just looks fuzzy and awful.
