I always brag about the fact I'm able to play all their songs, without any exception.

Even Blackbird? I was pretty proud of myself for learning that one. :D

Even Blackbird! Though I have some trouble sometimes doing the descending bit for "Blaaaackbird fly..."

    "Julia" is quite tough, too.

That's awesome that you really know them all. I love "Julia"!

The funny thing is, I learned to play guitar because of The Beatles. I started with the simple songs, like "Love Me Do", which was just G, C, and a D, then progressed almost "along with them" to stuff like "Julia" and "Across The Universe", that has a difficult intro.

    But I mastered it! :D

Do you have the big white book that has all the chords, bass tabs, drum parts, et cetera? That one is my bible.

That's a good reason to start to play Casper. I wish more bands would take their cue.

EDIT: Our Beatles tab books are in two fairly thick black volumes. They have all the guitar parts but no drum parts or anything like that.

Does it have "That Means A Lot" -- there are some books around that have their unissued songs in them, too.

George has always been my favorite. He was a being of wind and air. :)

No, I don't think the ones I have have any of the unreleased stuff.

I've always really liked Geoorge too, I love that bottom pic Meg!

That Avedon photo is my absolute favorite Harrison image. :)

It reflects who he was so perfectly.

It was on the back of the "1" disc. The poster hangs on the wall of the stairs to the attic, if that makes sense.

Do you remember when you heard he died, Meg?

Yup. I was watching CNN and saw the blurb splash across the bottom of the screen. I wasn't completely surprised by the news, but I was very depressed. :(

I want to get that image as a poster. It would be a perfect commemoration.

Yeah, it didn't come out of thin air -- first, the throat cancer, then the mad attack at his own home, then the brain tumour.

Yeah, even when you see it coming it's still tragic.

But we need to lighten the mood a bit I think...

Yeah, we all had time to get used to the idea of his mortality. I think that knowledge even gave him some peace as well.
With John, it was totally different. :(

Well, sometimes it's good to talk about it, I seldom meet fellow Beatles fans.

Harrison's last joke was a great one: his last song "Horse To The Water" was published by RIP Ltd. :D

He had a great sense of humor. He was close friends with the members of Monty Python, and I believe he even produced Life of Brian and Time Bandits. :)

With Harrison, I'm actually starting to discover his solo work only now; I have all McCartney's and Lennon's records.

I've "discovered" The Beatles in '93, before that, I had never even heard of songs like "I Am The Walrus" or "The Long And Winding Road". They were all completely new to me. I only knew the biggest 'evergreens'.

    *POOF!*

    [face_laugh]

EDIT: I have a strange obsession with I am the Walrus. :D

Yeah, he did that, with Handmade Films. The company had some troubles in the 90s, which is one of the reasons -- they say -- that Harrison agreed to do "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love".
