(below is info that I outright copied from a post Sal made)

    "Official Info"

    Date: April 30-May 2
Where: Pittsburgh ExpoMart (Monroeville, just east of Pittsburgh)
Cost: Admission is $17 a day or a three day pass for $45. Also, if you come in costume on Sunday May 2nd you get in free!

You can go here: Pittsburgh ComiCON for official details about the con and see who's going to be guest appearing.

Here are some blurbs about Star Wars related folk:

    AILSA BERK
Ailsa Berk puppetted the unlikely form of the leech-like bounty hunter, Amanaman from Jabba the Hutt's palace shortly before the battle of Endor in Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi. Entering the costume from a panel in the back, Ailsa articulated Amanaman's mouth and body while other puppeteers animated his arms from off screen. Ailsa has also brought characters to life in other films including Tarzan's ape mother, Kolo in The Legend of Tarzan: Lord of the Apes. She has also worked on Return to OZ and Hans My Hedgehog.

    RENA OWEN
Rena Owen portrayed the beautiful sylph-like Kaminoan, Taun We in Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones. Rena began her acting career in London in the mid 80s. She trained at the Actors Institute and worked in British Theater. Since then she has become one of New Zealand?s most successful actresses and its most recognizable star in the film community. Rena won Best Actress Awards at the Montreal, Oporto, Seattle and San Diego and Cannes Film Festiveals for her performance as Beth Heke in Once Were Warriors, (One of Time Magazines Top 10 movies for 1995.) Her first feature film was a supporting role in Kevin Costner?s Rapa Nui in 1993. Since then she has appeared in such films as: AI, Soul Assissins, Roimata, I?ll Make You Happy, What Becomes of the Brokenhearted and When Love Comes, Vaudeville House and Dance Me to My Song, which again garnered Rena a 1998 Cannes Film Festival Best Supporting Actress nomination. She has also appeared in various New Zealand and Australian Television series as well as appearing in the US in Gideon?s Crossing and portraying the Demigoddess Dinza on the WB series Angel. In 2003, Rena will appeared as: a pre-colonial Warrior Woman in an Indie film shot in Fiji, Fire in the Womb, a Hit Woman in a Los Angeles short film, Sidney, a Tibetan Nun gone wrong in a Martial Arts film for Sunset Studios USA and a Psycho Killer in a Lions Gate feature, Paper Scissors Stone, set and shot in Toronto. In addition to acting, Rena Owen has been a writer, director and producer. Rena will be returning to the Star Wars series with Episode III. She will be portraying a senator, but that's all we can tell you because by LucasFilm mandate if you knew any more we'd have to kill you. Check Rena's website at: www.renaowen.com

    ORLI SHOSHAN
Making her first appearance in the US, Orli Shoshan portrayed the colorful Togruta Jedi, Shaak-Ti from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Having survived the battle on Geonosis, look for Orli and Shaak-Ti as she'll be appearing in Star Wars Episode III. Orli is a Australian super-model with her own clothing line, appropiately called Orli. You can check out her clothing line at her website: www.orli.com.au

AND we believe AMY ALLEN is also going to be in attendance. She was the Blue Twi'Lek Jedi "Aayla Secura" in AOTC. She was there last year and is a very friendly person.

OTHER EVENTS SWAP will be meeting on Saturday at the comicon (exact time TBA) afterwards, we will be heading to John Harvards for socializing with each other and other fanforces from the area (we hope)

you can go in whatever costume you like. This is not a Star Wars convention but a comic convention. You'll see folks dressed as super heroes, horror movie villians and last year we even saw some fellows dressed as ghostbusters.

(Of course if you plan on hanging with us in a trek uniform be prepared for a friendly ribbing...) Don't get me wrong, I like trek but I haven't gone over to the Kirk side...ha ha J/K

Trek! Thats great! We have actually been searching (okay, I have) for some time for some trekkers. A long, long time ago, Rox and I had the idea it would be a neat charity fund raiser to have a bowling tourney Star Trek VS Star Wars, but we never could find a Trek organization in Pittsburgh.

At last year's comicon there was a guy in a Star Fleet uniform that when we spotted we tried to get his attention, but I think we scared him off because he walked away from us very quickly. Okay, maybe saying something along the lines of 'hey, there's a trekker.' and having several stormtroopers, Jedi, the Emperor, Sith and bounty hunters advance together towards the lone Trekker could have been misinterpreted as a less than friendly action. But we just wanted to talk to him about organizing a cross-universe get together.

    Honest.

    :D

Nice to hear from you. Are you folks planning on joining us for the Multi Fanforce dinner afterwards on Saturday?

We are hoping you will have some from your group. Of course we will be there and I believe there is going to be approx 6 from the Cleveland FF.

Let us know so we can reserve a big enough area. (PM or post to Greencat336 for more details if needed)

I will definitely be attending but I want to know, will there be an event like the "Femmes of the Force" thing they had last year?

    Hiya Folks!

Although this info will be also posted on the events thread and the March minutes thread, since it has to do with comicon, I'm posting it here too. (and its an easy way to get my post count up. ;) )

SWAP will be meeting at noon on Saturday, inside, near the enterance to the comicon that is near the 'food court' area.

Dinner & Socializing will be at John Harvards on Route 22 (in Penn Plaza shopping center, PM me for directions) at 7:30 PM on Saturday.

Costumes are fine at the Comicon, but since we won't be in a private room at John Harvards, I suggest 'civilian' clothes for dinner.

    Hi, me again!

Thanks for the heads-up about the toy show, Sal. We may have a few members who would be interested.

Right now it looks like there will be four of us in attendance. With JediCon WV just a few weeks before, though, that may change (maybe we'll get some new members! :D ) We got rooms in the Radisson this year, as well.

    Again, we can't wait!

Sure. It's just a regular sized room, though, not like the one we partied in last year.

Cool about WV FF. At least 4 from there and it looks like roughly 5-6 from Cleveland FF. I'm guessing around a dozen from here so that puts us at 20+. That's a nice size.

Chris (Greecat), if you haven't made the reservation yet, it looks like 20-25 is a good number.

Oh and I did my homework for the 501st. Garrison Carida are having their own dinner after comicon so they won't be joining us.

I'm not going in costume on Saturday, but decided last night that I'll be attending on Sunday as well and will be in costume then. (Gotta save the dollars on admission, besides the vendors usually have the best bargains on the last day.)

I just got done building my arm brace that Anakin will be wearing in Ep3 and it looks awsome. Can't wait to wear it in three weeks. All I need now is my leather belt from Jeff Parks.

Hey, I just thought of something, Will SWAP have a booth set up? And if so, will their be a need for badges or anything like that? I think I remember that last year.

No we decided quite some time ago, that we would not have a booth this year at comicon, but would just enjoy the con itself together.
