Buff, NY Pittsburgh ComicCon Accomodations

For those considering attending...

The Con rate for the Raddison attached to the ExpoMart, the con host hotel, is $3 less than the regular rate. So that's $96 per nite rather than $99.

Not too many cheaper hotels easily nearby, but we picked the Days Inn Monreoville, a short drive from the ExpoMart and just up the hill. We stayed near there last time, and it's only less than 10 mins drive.

It came to $49 per night for 2 to a room advance purchase rate.

 

Mindy and I are currently planning on attending all weekend (arriving Friday night and leaving around 12/1 Sunday). We're considering staying at the hotel attached to the con for convenience, but are open to other possibilities as well. We'll only go tto the con on Saturday and Sunday. Last year, admission on Sunday was free if you wore a costume.

Who is planning on attending so that we can all make accomodations for hotels?

We're going on Friday, and leaving Sunday.

Not sure when we're leaving, so as yet haven't decided if we're buying con membership for Friday.

We do have the above listed hotel.

I'd like to go, but it all depends on where i end up for my co-op.

 

Not sure yet-I might be out since I am saving up for C4

 

We are going Saturday & Sunday for sure. Depending on how late Jason has to work Friday, we may go up Friday.

 

i will not be going, i really really want to, but this job is killing me

 

Unfortunately, we cannot make it again this year, but would really liked to have gone, considering all the stories from last year. Our Godson is having his First Communion on Saturday and, obviously, we have to be there.

 

I'd like to go from Saturday to Sunday.

 

Is anyone else interested in going early Sat morning?
Aaron works till 2am Friday and he's already eating up his vacation for the trip to Disney.
I don't mind driving, just looking for driving and possibly bunk up partner.

 

I may have to work until 8PM Friday, so I am leaning towards a Saturday morning trip myself as well.

 

Do we all want to stay in the same hotel if possible?

 

last year we all stayed in the same hotel and that seemed to work out fine. my room was next to darren's and not to far from chris's at the days inn. I was all for going to the ramada but if we go for 2 days even splitting the cost amongst us its still a nice chunk of change. For my money I say lets all "invade" the days inn.

also any word on when tickets will go on sale for the dinner?

 

No word on the dinner yet. I'll keep you posted.

 

Per the Pitsburgh Comicon Website, tickets prices are as follows:

One Day Pass $18.00 (per person)
Two Day Pass $35.00 (per person)
Three Day Pass $45.00 (per person)


Last year, admission was free on Sunday if you wore a costume. (Trsut me, you'll want to see some of the costumes that are worn to the con!!)

I havent booked my room yet but I spoke with the hotel manager and discussed having everyone form Fanforce on the same floor.
so... when you do book your hotel at the radisson please mention you are with Fanforce and would like to be on the same floor as the other Fanforce guests.
I tried negotiating a discount for us to book all together but of course they said the 99.00 rate was the best they could do.

I still think it would be alot of fun having us all on the same floor. You may be able to get another couple to share the room with you to cut costs. The rooms were nice last year we had a suite and it was huge.

So again, mention you are with Fanforce and want to be with other Fanforce guests and hopefully if it works the way I requested LOL we will all be on the same floor

 

Okay so far I'm traveling with Gil first thing Saturday morning. Would anyone else like to join us, I've got room for two to three more people. Also looking to share a room, like I mentioned at the meeting, I'm not picky, and would willingly bring my sleeping bag and pillow just to crash on a floor.....

 

I'm still waiting to see where I end up for my co-op before I can commit to any sort of rooming arrangement; although I would be in for sharing rooms with others.

 

I just found out I got the day off on the 27th! I am still planning on leaving Saturday morning, but I get to rest up for the trip!

 

We are going to the Con for sure. We would like to leave Friday afternoon. We'll stay Friday and Saturday night. They are having Charity Texas Hold'em Friday night.

If any body wants to go Friday we'll have room for two.

Also, have we decided on what hotel we want to stay in so I can make the reservations?

Somebody let me know about the rooms and if somone needs a ride.

 

We can all talk a little more about the hotels tomorrow during the quick meeting.
