HamptRds, VA PKU Walk-A-Thon on May 19th

As Mike indicated, this is a joint event between Garrison Tyranus and our FanForce!

Non-costumers of our FanForce are most welcome as well!!!! This is a charity event that can use extra volunteer hands, so chime in if you're interested.

When: May 19 (Saturday) beginning around 10:00 AM. Ending around 3:00 PM.

We'll be a little late, due to soccer game that morning for the youngling, but will be there! Not sure on the costumes we'll be using, yet, because one of us will probably need to be un-helmeted in order to wrangle the youngling during the event.

 

In a 501st capacity, I'll be dressed in Tie for a few hours, then dress down to assist with children activities.

The organizers did say there will be food & drinks provided, etc.

 

Also, there is a member of GT who has the PKU disease and will be at the walk.

If you wish to donate items for raffle, that would be wonderful. The organizers would very much appreciate anything of quality and value that you can offer to help raise funds for research.

I'll give some background about this non-profit group. This group is starting at the ground-level. They are attempting to organize and consolidate resources to hold this first-ever PKU fund-raising event in Virginia.

There will be over 18 families from across Virginia and parts of North Carolina to attend this event. It's not be a big event like American Cancer Society's, but that doesn't diminish its importance in any way.

I hope anyone in HHR who has some time available will try to make it.

 

I am not going to be able to make it out now.

 

Change of plans I will be there for a little bit.
