We'll just kill any JP that we see....y'know, just to be sure and all.
Sounds like a good plan.
Planet of the Apes
When: August 11th
Where: South Bank Hoyts
Time: At this stage, 12:00 Midday
I'll be there, who else is coming?
Grieyls? Squidly? Neech? Kahli? Kahlan72? JEDIPAULAW? Riffington? Killer Ewok? Ghost of Caesar? Silmarillion? Ra?
Those who turn up I guess, but since I started this thread I will be there.
Well, I already saw it and it ROCKS!!! Finally, a Sci-Fi movie that has come out recently that doesn't rely on big special effects and flashy action, but rather characters and story.
I hope to be ther to see it again. If I ain't, then I'm still sleeping.
Well if Neech liked it it must be alright....well I'm basing this on the fact that he seems to have good taste. Hang on, I might go re-think that for a while.
I'm coming. My boss, who saw it yesterday, challenged me to explain the ending to him, so I'll have to stay focused throughout.
Can we sing the Funky Gibbon whilst there?
That's the second time that I've heard of someone wanting the end explained.
I don't know why, it's so simple.
I think you might be a bit more intelligent than the average bear Neech. I'm probably gonna need it explained!
I just got information that it's not on til 100pm so I'm working on that. The Hoyts website doesn't even have times posted for today!!
probably see yas later
Well, I must say that it was an excellent film, can't wait to see it again. Very good.
Sorry I couldn't be there....but I saw it on friday. Good movie, even if the ending was a tad obvious.
Certainly better than I'd expected.
Which part exactly are you refering to?
The bit right at the end. You know, after he does the thing and goes to the place.
If your talking about when he goes back to earth, I will assume everybody has seen it now, then I have to ask, have you ever read the original novel? I can't say for certain as I havn't either, but I am told that's how the book ends, so I don't think it was that silly. After Neech explained it however, it makes perfect sense.
I haven't read the book, but I have seen the original movie.
I didn't mean that I didn't understand the ending, and I didn't think it was silly.
However, I did see it coming a mile away.
On a related topic, I noticed that the Planet of the Apes DVD box set is coming out soon (within the next few months, I think)
Jolly good then, you'll have to exploain how you saw the ending coming to us, as I can't see how you could have come to that conclusion so quickly.
I saw the original a week before, and when I realised he was actually going back to earth, it just seemed obvious to me. Either that or it was just the ending I was hoping for.....either is possible really.
Or. Dean. Air. E.
Maybe I just didn't get it.
Probably for the best then.
What is that supposed to mean?
I don't know
