Hammertong. It was a part of the superlaser, after all.

    But size-wise, isn't a planetary turbolaser a lot larger?

From a turbolaser standpoint, I don't think there's a larger turbolaser-type weapon than a "Heavy Turbolaser" -- which is a space-station class turbolaser. Those are probably the MAXIMUM of the class of weaponry on a planetary defense grid, becuase you have to think about it in reverse:

If a BDZ can be accomplished with regular turbolasers -- you probably don't need much more than that to return the favor to the far smaller ship in orbit.

Hammertong is a portion of a prototype for a second Death Star's superlaser. It is not a weapon in and of itself; it requires the other sections of superlaser and a hypermatter reactor to operate.

Raith Sienar designed a huge turbolaser to be the main weapon of his Expeditionary Battle Planetoid, a direct precursor to the Death Star. One wonders what kind of power that thing packed...

By Planetary Turbolaser, I assume you're talking about the KDY w160?
