ST Planets in the ST

The accidental off-topic posting between this thread and that one would be hilarious.

Alright, take it easy.

Whoever put you in a bad mood, it wasn't me, because I wasn't there.

 

I think we are headed back to Tatooine for the opening, then from there it will be all new planets.

From leaks and other rumors, my thoughts:
1) Desert - I say Tatooine based on the set pics
2) Temperate climate, maybe dominated by oceans (Skellig Michael location) - Maybe where Luke has been hiding or winds up near the end of the film
3) Forest (with snow?) - I think this is where the final battle or one of the major battles of the film will take place
4) I'm also hoping to see Moraband briefly (and I wish it were still Korriban...)
5) Coruscant will probably pop up for Leia's plotline, but I expect to see more of it in Ep8

 

Actually it is pretty hard to reconcile leaks and rumors.

1. Rumors
- The hand is supposed to land on a desert planet that is NOT Tatooine. The articles go out of their way to stress this. (can I hope Dathomir? Or Moraband?)
- There is an ice planet where the baddies and the superweapon are (Hoth, Belsavic, Csilla, Illum)
- There is a snowy forest where a major fight takes place (flashback Alderaan maybe? Think: Hope trailer for SWTOR)
- There is supposedly a concept art/sketcch/whatever of Leia meating with a lot of Hutts hinting at Nal Hutta or preferably Nar Shaddaa

2. Leaks
- Dozens of pictures of Tatooine(the only officially confirmed planet)
- A lot of pics from Puzzlewood. Scenes were shot in July(so no snow) (Maybe Endor or Dagobah)
- Thanks to the helicopter crash we know that shots were taken in Iceland that has some very Moraband looking parts
- Skellig (No idea but would love it to be Mortis)
- The inside of a diner hinting at a city planet(Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa, Taris, Denon. Corellia)

This is 9 planets. I think the most we had was in RotS which actually had 9 if we count the dagobah deleted scene and the order 66 montage. To make it less crowded:
- Tatooine
- Moraband
- Ice planet
- Flashback Alderaan
- Puzzlewood
- Skellig
- Nar Shaddaa

That is still 7. Maybe the ice planet is miscommunication and CGI snow will be added later to the puzzlewood shots. Makes no sense but still.

Inside of a diner? I missed that! Where are those images? I take it this isn't Dex's Diner again.

 

It was a few weeks back. No shots were shown just an article that some family restaurant (I think) will be used as a setting.

 

Thanks for explaining. I missed that one at the time. interesting... We've had a cantina, a diner, a nightclub and now, maybe, a family restaurant.

LOL - just had another thought. McDonald's sometimes uses the term "family restaurant" as a euphemism for their fastfood joints. Man, I hope they don't go for have a space equivalent of that in the film.

 

As long as there are no little planet names appearing at the corner of the screen telling us where we are. Have someone mention it. Any kind of text appearing in a star wars film outside of some kind of display would throw me out of the universe.

 

I just want them to remember that it's a galaxy far, far away, and not a solar system far, far away.

 

Anyone seen the "Spire" prison from rebels where Luminara is kept? Very similar rock formation to Skellig and it's snow/ice capped.

I'm certainly keeping this on my list of possibilities.

edit: Just read it's also in Son of Dathomir (where Maul is briefly held)...interesting

 

Hmmm, interesting find. So potentially Skellig could be the ice planet.

Well if Luke is kept prisoner somewhere this is probably the best place for that.

It will be interesting to see how many planets from my wish list get into the movie

Mortis, Force Planet, Dromund Kaas, Moraband, Csilla, Nar Shaddaa, Dathomir

I wonder what Skellig Island will be. A Kamino-like planet with cliffs?

Locked in a 30-year long, Seventh Seal-esque game of golf with a manifestation of the Dark Side of the Force (played by Max Von Sydow, of course).

 

Man, it's pretty sad that turf is the most news we've had in weeks! We need some new leaks!

Adi_Gallia_9 I audibly chuckled when I saw the turf "story" actually got its own headline on starwars7news. This is what it's come to...

 

Hopefully, it means that we will have another official announcement of some kind or deliberate leak soon. Once people become desperate and and start grasping at things like this, the next stage will be for interest to start to wane a little. The marketers will therefore leak something so that they do not lose momentum.
