Five planets would be plenty. TPM had 3 and AOTC added 2 more. I felt both films were perfectly paced. I can understand the misguided motive for jam-packing ROTS with planets and duels if its was expected to be the last SW film ever, but I thought it was a frenzied pace. Maxing out at 3-5 is the formula for a rich and successful storyline. I too hope to see more of the core, perhaps in Episodes VIII or IX, and exotic, captivating worlds. The nostalgic OT-style infusion for TFA is a great starting point, agreed. Which planet(s) in TFA do you believe will function as anchor planet(s) for the entire ST?

D'Qar is a cool planet name and is ver Star Wars -ishy.

I wonder if it is a planet with some native inhabitants?

Political and military factions aren't "native."

You might be. I think the forest locations (on both Takodana and Starkiller) look great - especially the lake, Maz's castle and the snowy forest setting.

Okay so we have another planet name: Hosnian Prime. Buuut since it is the birthplace of the resistance it is more likely to be this trilogy's Alderaan than Skellig.

    Wait, what?
Rakata Prime? Rakata Prime is canon?
Hoooold on. HK-47 is canon, Rakata Prime is canon. KotoR is pretty close to canon now. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
Hey, any chance Luke is hiding on Rakata Prime?

Mustafar is missing, unless I can't see it. Oversight,or has it been destroyed by the time of TFA? The only other planet to appear on screen that isn't present is Alderaan, which implies it's a map of the Galaxy at a certain time...

I see Malastare, Mandalore and Moraband, but no Mustafar. Starkiller Base being in the unknown region could make it Ilum or Csilla. Probably Ilum as the Chiss Ascendancy probably not allow anyone to turn their home planet into a FO base.

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I mentioned it; Alderaan not being there implies it's the map of the Galaxy at a certain point in time. Mustafar not being there could imply something has happened to Mustafar, too.

I doubt the Chiss ascendency or Illum or Csilla will play any part in this.

There's a certain logic if Starkiller Base is Ilum, given the giant Kyber Crystals used in the Death Star laser.

Looking at this map and the one above, Korriban and Moraband are at about the same location. According to previous lore, both are Sith homeworlds, right? Maybe one still is and the "Ren's" (or at least Kylo) goes there scavenging for ancient relics. Just speculating out loud here, lol.

Starkiller Base shown as origin point, so is it moving like the original Death Star? How do they move a planet out of the orbit around its star? Rogue planets exist but still move on their path at extreme speeds, to take control of it is mind boggling.

I'm speculating if by origin point, it means that the weapon's active bits kind of fire from more than one place, but that Starkiller Base is the source or something. But I get that that's a bit out there

Hey, not-kid. We have a map. Tatooine and Jakku are almost a whole galaxy apart.
    Good enough evidence?

Where did that map come from? And when I click on it to look, it's really low resolution and I can't read a thing
