ST Planets/Worlds Of The ST Discussion Thread

Tatooine and Mustafar I can understand, but why they would use Endor is beyond me. I guess it will make sense in the context of the movie.

Yes, and we already know of at least three new planets in TLJ. Plus, these rumors lean towards the three old planets possibly appearing in flashbacks.

So, yeah, we'll get new planets.

 

Lucasfilm lacks all kind of Imagination, they where once Pioneers of the New age of Science-fiction, but now it's all a little bit uninspired the same old over and over again. The worst Part are the Locations.. Deserts, Forests, Snow.. Deserts, Forests, Snow.
They should let the People who are making The Cartoons work on the Movies.

 

Lucasfilm doesn't lack imagination - JJ Abrams does. Thank the maker, Rian Johnson is bringing something original and fresh to the ST.

Rogue One restored faith in the franchise for sure.

Anyway, SWNN are speculating that Tatooine will be the home of Luke's Jedi Academy. This is impossible, because we saw it in flashback scene with the Knights of Ren in TFA already - and it was RAINING. It doesn't rain like that on Tatooine - theory debunked.

 

the scene with the KoR had nothing to do with Luke, his temple or his students: it's a different event that happened later, and involves a "clan" and its leader. We still dont know anything about them but it's not the jedi slaughter. The only shot from Luke's academy is the one with things burning and his hand on R2D2. And it's not raining. Having say that im not convinced the temple is on tatooine, sounds like mere speculation..

 

No more desert planets please :/ I am sick of them.

 

Of past planets, I'd be cool with seeing Coruscant and Mustafar again. Tatooine...no thanks. It's been in enough movies.

I don't even want to see D'Qar or Takodana again. Ever. They are totally forgettable and boring. Hoping for really unique and exciting planets in TLJ.

 

It seems like these planets are just making cameos during a forceback scene. Relax everybody.

End of ROTJ we see Vader in a funeral pyre with Luke watching...fast forward to TFA and we see the charred Vader helmet in Kylos possession. We are getting a flashback on how Vadets helmet ended up with Kylo or there will be some force significance at Endor

 

Unless Tatooine always experiences virga, where the rain evaporates before hitting the ground, which would be another good reason to have the vaporators.

• the Sith were defeated in ROTJ
• Darth Vader died
• Anakin Skywalker returned

 

Wasn't there talk of Vaders Castle on Mustafar appearing again in another star wars movie?

 

Right. Sometimes I get the feeling that people have watched Star Wars a billion times, and yet still have no idea what they've seen.

 

Finally, Tatooine! Yes! I really like that planet, not only for being the home of the Skywalkers, but also for being the planet the saga always returns to.

Mustafar... OK, it's established in RO that Vader has a castle there, but I do hope Johnson will explain it in more details.

Endor. Ewoks again? Vader's remains? It's not exactly a place I'd revisit, but we'll see what happens there.

And to clarify: I was very disappointed with the planets seen in TFA. They were very plain and uninteresting, and the fact they were the types we already saw in the saga, but not those planets, made it worse. Tatooine is not new, but it's our familiar desert planet, not a desert planet of different name. Mustafar is not new, but it's not another vulcanic planet.

 

Tattooine? I'm cool with that. It's classic Star Wars.
Mustafar? A big yes if we see Vader's castle again.
Endor? I can be convinced. I love forest environments.

 

if we see this planets again in the ST, and that's a big "if", i doubt it will be more than a brief cameo during some force vision...it's like saying we saw Bespin again in TFA...i dont believe our protagonists will spend time on any of them. Sadly, some mainstream media are already reporting that TLJ wont introduce new planets but will go back to known worlds instead pfff...
