Two months now, to the point that I'm thinking about going to see a doctor. But before that I'd much prefer to get your opinions. I'm one of those hypochondriacs who avoids the doctor because of how bad s/he knows the news is going to be. My leading theories are lung cancer and tuberculosis, possibly both combined with a case of walking pneumonia.

Background info: I'm a non smoker, although I smoked 4 or 5 cigars in my twenties. All in one night. I don't smoke weed. The house I grew up in had a radon gas problem. I hope that's helpful.

Based on my experiences with pneumonia, that seems unlikely. It's probably lung cancer.

it's not the cough that carries you off. It's the coffin they carry you off in.

Did it start around the same time Jurassic World's gross hit $1B

Could be a piece of humble pie, gone down the wrong hole?

Smoke weed. It's good for you--it will cure your cough.

is it an anti-inflammatory? Thanks for jumping ahead to treatment. If I can cure it on my own I don't even need to see a doctor.

I also need to figure out my health insurance. The way I think it works is that I write a check for $7,000 to the first doctor I see in the calendar year, but that after that I don't pay anything out of pocket but a $20 co pay.

You should probably do one of those PEOPLE interviews before you go to the doctor and don't mention the cough in the interview so we can remember you fondly.

I don't want to get too deep into it here, but simply put, weed has healing powers. I've seen its effect on asthmatic people, on people with stress, anxiety, people so withdrawn and in pain they couldn't even talk to other people anymore.

I had a persistent "tickly" cough for around six months from 2013/2014 - Was a virus at the back of my throat that just wouldn't go away!

There are so many different things it could be its impossible to diagnose but after two months you should see a Doctor for tests.

It could be allergies, infection (usually viral, and 2 months isn't unheard of), mild asthma, irritation from something at home/work (like dust, perfumes, dry air), or even acid reflux.
I'd not worry too much about lung cancer, I think the statistic was that GERD, allergies, and asthma result in upwards of 90% of chronic coughs.

I'd see your doc for a workup though, just to be sure it's not serious. :)

You've jinxed me. I've been lobbying Cor for years to get on the list, but eventually he became so frustrated with my incessant pleading PMs that he called down the mods on me.
