yes, but these stereotypes make them seem culturally backward. we're talking about the inventors of the turbojet, rifling, the submachine gun, cruise and ballistic missiles. Reducing the importance of Germans to strudel, beer and how unpoetic and harsh "flamethrower" sounds in the language is so unfair.
