He was the Forum Interrogator (he runs our forum interviews), so he had a Game Host badge before.

 

All mods have either "Moderator" or "Manager" as a flag right under their title. Other people who have VIP-ship have other titles (VIP, Game Host, Ex-mod, etc.).

 

Everyone is a moderator. Except for you.

Well deserved congrats The Hellhammer !

 

The Hellhammer You are from a part of the world that is very liberal by western standards, does it seem odd when you have to moderate some of the language here? Not trolling, I am honestly curious.

 

Different situations and different copmany requires different language. It's all about the context. You can't and don't speak to everyone you meet in the same manner. The sort of lewd jokes you could pass around with friends over a bottle of liquor would certainly not be appropriate to use in a different situation The rules of this forum make sense to me within their own context and I have no trouble following them and enforcing them. I think that due to that we have one of the more civil communities on the web. Just look at YouTube comments for example. You can't have a decent discussion there. In fact, it hurts you just to read that stuff. Even with an occasional outburst we have here, the discussions are civil and more or less eloquent for the most part.

And, if nothing else, there is some creativity to be had in finding an eloquent combination of words that express what would otherwise be said in a simple default swear word

 

I guess what I meant to ask was if you think it is odd as to what needs to be moderated compared to what is normally socially acceptable from where you live.

 

Well not really. If I was to compare JCF to any local forum of the same type (that is "family friendly") the standards are pretty much the same. We don't go around shooting off our mouths at every single opportunity
