Boy it is like I am picking them myself. I added Night4554 to my WUL a week or so before he was modded, and you too were added to my WUL a few days back.

I have told a few people this already by PM, but I will state this publicly for everyone to see.

DL affiliation (or any other social group) was not a factor in this nor in any other promotion recently. In fact, it was not even mentioned for any of the JCC mods' promotions.

Dashy was recommended to us by multiple users and moderators, and received overwhelming support from the MS as a whole. In the process, we were given a total of about 10-15 names to consider, and we considered each and every one before narrowing it down for a poll.

With that said, let me add "Congratulations dashy!"

How incredibly naive. Either that or it's a lie, I don't know which. Of course it was a factor. Heck, that's the only time half of you actually interact with anyone in the JCC. I think it's more insulting that you guys have the audacity to say it doesn't make a difference than it would be if you just came out and said "I made friends with him in the DL's and voted for him".

At least this proves the fact that taking your time doesn't affect your choices.

EDIT: Let me add that my complete lack of respect for the moderators' decision-making abilities should not reflect on what I think of Dashy as a person. I just don't feel that playing "pretend mod" in Comms and making an ASCII lightsaber qualifies him for a JCC spot.

 

Mehnes to the promotion. The Administration seems more focused on quantity than quality.

 

I agree social groups can be a problem, but I reiterate: Who else would you have preferred? Mods are hard to find nowadays, and since I know Dashy aka Morse is a decent guy and will definitely put in a good effort as a mod, that's good enough for me.

That being said, congrats.
